Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed is eagerly awaiting the blockbuster clash with rivals India at the Asia Cup 2018 to be held in September this year. The last time the two teams faced other was last year’s ICC Champions Trophy final in England with Sarfaraz-led Pakistan winning their maiden title.

Bilateral cricketing ties between the two teams have been suspended for some time now which means the only time they compete against each other is during ICC and continental events.

The two teams are scheduled to face each other on September 19 at the Dubai International Stadium, UAE and Sarfaraz claims his team will be well-prepared for the high-profile contest. “We will perform our best against India in Asia Cup,” Sarfraz told reporters during an Independence Day event in Karachi. “We will go well-prepared to play against India.”

However, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has objected to the schedule of the Asia Cup 2018 as India are to play matches on consecutive days on September 18 and 19. Several reports have claimed that the board wants rescheduling to allow their team breathing space between games.

In all likeliness, a revised schedule will be announced in the coming days.

As per the current schedule, the tournament starts on September 15 with the final to be played on September 28. Six teams will participate in the tournament including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and two qualifiers.

We should be able to beat them easily and win the cup.... Kohli is going to be either tired or injured to play to his abilities as it's just one week between the last last and THE game. And without him we all know how good India are... 😁

What's this obsession with India. I can't stand these journalists and players. It's as if to say we're only playing against India.

I don't care about beating India, I just want to win the Asia Cup, beating India of course would be a great bonus

Have you seen the other teams in the Asia Cup? It's essentially an India Pak series with some warm up matches thrown in the mix
