KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan questions why cricketers Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah got into a quarrel on Wednesday, after learning about the incident. He said that nothing is clear as of yet and the matter will be addressed after an inquiry report, reported Dunya News.

The PCB Chairman remained steadfast while saying that action will be taken against any kind of disciplinary misconduct. “Whether its the fault of Wahab or Yasir fault, action will be taken if understood necessary”, he added. Earlier, it was reported that leg-spinner Yasir Shah and paceman Wahab Riaz confronted each other during a football game in the team’s training session at Gabba in Brisbane before the commencement of first day-night Test against Australia tomorrow.

Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a serious view of the bust-up between Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah during a training session in Brisbane on Wednesday, a day before the first Test begins at the Gabba on Thursday.

PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan told the media here that he was disappointed to hear about the incident involving Wahab and Yasir during a football session.

“I don’t know how this happened because so far the team has been a well-knit side and disciplined. This is not discipline and we have asked for a report from the team management on what transpired,” he said.

Khan said after studying the report, disciplinary action, if necessary, would be taken against the two players.

The incident was picked up by the international media after wire services flashed pictures of the two players facing off in the training session.

The long and short arm of PCB law swings into action!

Lol there's no need for an inquiry. Shock, horror, somebody playing football gets angry after a late tackle.

For the love of god, this is not Kindergarden, they had a flare up, misunderstanding and got into an ego tussle, argument during the heat of the moment and they resolved it like mature adults afterwards. No need for any action.

Should be fined 50-100% of their match fees so PCB officials can spend on their family tours

Why does he need to make such comments in public. Why not wait for the report and deal with the matter internally.

Just keeping the tradition alive :akhtar

In all seriousness, I see selector, chairman & coach giving statements pretty much every other day. It's same for everyone. They look like doing their jobs via media.

simply stupid comments.....n league has ruined everythiing in this country.

Arthur has indicated that both Yasir and Wahab will get extra homework this week.

Pathetic!!! Why does a guy holding such a high position have to get involved in such petty issues and make them look bigger than they are?
