NEW DELHI: To control the rising prices of onion, the government is importing 11,000 tonnes of the staple vegetable from Turkey. Government sources on Sunday said that the MMT has signed a second import order for this and the consignment will reach the country by end of December or the first week of January.

An English-language Pakistan daily has claimed Bangladesh placed a 300 tons import order to Pakistan, after nearly 15 years of recess as India imposed a ban on export of the kitchen essential.

In a report on Friday, The News International said an an official of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) confirmed that Bangladesh’s Tasho Enterprise finalized deals with a Karachi-based Roshan Enterprise in this regard.

You know what's funny about embarrassment - it's not something anyone can inflict on someone no matter how hard they try, and yet someone can feel it even if the other person didn't mean to. AKA if you don't feel embarrassed, no one can embarrass you.

We realize Turkey has zero impact on the Kashmir situation. We needed onions, we got them. Hindu baniya much.

It was 140 Rs per kg yesterday. From 20 Rs per kg to 140 is a big jump. It was out of my budget so I just bought 250 grams. Those who were making fun of tomato prices in Pakistan must be banging their heads on the wall. Whenever something like this happens common man suffers the most in both the countries.
