Incidents like this will create problems in future as authorities will not buy the stories of hate crime against muslims. I just hope authorities have taken a stance against the parents to ensure such stupidity doesnt occur again.

Free sympathy. It's the equivalent of women wrongly claiming sexual harassment. They do it because they can do it and the alleged perpetrator is guilty until proven innocent.

Now, do you think Police should charge the parents of the 11 year old girl for lying to officers(its crime to lie against officers in Canada). From PM of Canada to Preimer of Ontario all were supporting the 11 year old girl, now that it has proven to be not true will they trust anymore so called ‘Hate crime’. Really shameful. Parents must teach their kids better but kids lie all the time about different things. This is a serious issue and needs to be addressed.

There was a case in Edinburgh, Scotland a few years ago when a young Sikh lad claimed that he was racially abused in a park, held down, and had his hair cut off. The police response was huge. 100s of UK Sikhs gathered at the park to hold a prayer and vigil.

In the end it turns out he made the whole thing up - he simply cut his own hair (after punching himself in the face) as he didn’t want to keep the hair long for religious reasons.

That's really shameful behavior from the 11 year old... A part of me thinks the parents might have encouraged her to do it in the hopes the government will monetarily compensate them or something.



The sad part is if some other girl has this ACTUALLY happen to her then the first reaction of the people might be that she is lying like the last one.

I have a feeling it was for monetary gain because as soon as some incident like this occurs "a go fund me" campaign is started right away.
