Bangladesh Air Force Plane Crash: The Army's public relations office confirmed in a brief statement that the downed F-7 BGI aircraft belonged to the Air Force.

Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crash News: Nineteen people were killed and over 60 injured when a Bangladesh Air Force plane hit a school and college campus in Dhaka on Monday.

The crash took place at Milestone School and College in the northern Uttara area of Dhaka. The military said in a statement that the F-7 BGI training aircraft had taken off at 1:06 p.m. local time (0706 GMT) before crashing.

“Bangladesh Air Force’s F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed in Uttara,” the military’s public relations department said, as quoted by Reuters.

Footage from the scene showed smoke rising near a lawn while a crowd watched from a distance. The plane had hit the side of a building, damaging its walls and iron grills. Firefighters were seen dousing the wreckage with water.

Such a heartbreaking tragedy.
My thoughts are with everyone affected in Dhaka. 💔

Om Shanti to all those who lost their lives in this tragic crash today. @sweep_shot @MMHS @Bhaag Viru Bhaag @anikrc1

This incident once again raises serious questions about the reliability of Chinese-made aircraft, particularly those from Chengdu Aircraft Industry. Just a few months ago, during Operation Sindoor, the Pakistan Air Force which operates Chengdu fighters was utterly incapable of defending its airspace. India executed precise strikes using Rafales and BrahMos missiles, and the Chinese platforms proved completely ineffective.

The performance was so dismal that the PAF reportedly refused a heavily discounted offer for J-35s, realizing that national security can’t be compromised by bargain-bin hardware. When your defense depends on platforms that fail under pressure, no discount is worth it.

Bangladesh should take note. Relying on cheap, substandard Chinese aircraft might save money in the short term, but it costs lives and compromises national defense. Instead of going for low-cost deals, nations like Bangladesh should invest in proven, high-performance platforms whether from Europe, Russia, or other credible defense suppliers.

When it comes to defense, reliability must outweigh affordability. A nation’s sovereignty deserves nothing less.
Are you trying to imply that @sweep_shot @MMHS @anikrc1 and myself lost someone in this crash? How low will you go? . :inti

Nor is it the time and place to be making cheap pot shots and propaganda about operation whatever, very low from him indeed. The air India thread for eg had nothing but condolences for pages on end, here he couldn’t resist from page 1. Pretty pathetic but sadly becoming expected behavior from him.

Edit: post is deleted now but still.

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’uun for those passed away and condolences to their families.

Tragic incident. Om Shanti

Was due to pilot error ?
