The United Arab Emirates have lost the second game of their five match series against Pakistan A at the ICC Academy in Dubai today.

Batting first after winning the toss, the home side soon found themselves in trouble as they struggled against the tourists' opening bowlers. They were 34-4 in the eighth over, and limped to just 46 when the fifth wicket fell in the 17th over. Slowly but surely though, they got themselves back into the game, though it wasn't until Mohammad Naveed came in at number nine that they gave their score a degree of respectability.

Naveed dominated a partnership of 56 for the eighth wicket with Krishna Karate, scoring 39 of the runs before Karate was out for 50. Naveed went on to score 56 from just 38 balls before he was out in the penultimate over. The UAE were bowled out for 194 in their final over. Ataullah was the pick of the bowlers with 4-40.

Pakistan A had a somewhat shaky start to their run chase, and were 47-4 in the fifteenth over. A big partnership for the sixth wicket between Babar Azam and Anwar Ali helped get them closer though, with the pair putting on 103 before Ali was out for 48.

Babar Azam finished the innings unbeaten on 80 as Pakistan A completed a four wicket win with nine balls to spare. The third match in the series will take place on Saturday.

There was happier news for the UAE today though as an announcement was made that they will be hosting Afghanistan for four ODIs in late November/early December.

Good to see Babar put in a great effort and not get out. Run out first match so bowling didn't do him there and he is in good form so far in all these A matches. Post WC is the perfect time to unveil him.

Sohaib Maqsood will never learn. Hit and miss player like Umar Akmal, only a little worse.

Another lost cause.

I think we should get Babar in team for WC he has more experience of playing in Australia than Younis

I only have one issue with Azam. At U-19 level he was a successful opener. I'm disappointed he went into the middle order. Tells me something about him.

he is a versatile player, that's only a positive imo, plus in a side that has 3 openers where else was he meant to go?

Attaullah should have been picked instead of that Imran Khan guy. He seems to a better fast bowler than him. Good performance today..

Have you guys seen him bowl? He was cleared by NCA and picked by selectors. Surely he must be clean enough. .

So was adnan rasool

Besides you can just tell that this guy his bending his arm heaps

Reminds me a bit of juniad zia

Looking into the first game

A defeat first of all

but what was surprising is - Jamshed scoring runs, is this the fight time he has scored anything above 20 since being dropped from international cricket?

Like to see Pak bat first for another 2 games at least

So we've been spared another abject humiliation. Barely, with Maqsood and Sharjeel playing like dunces, seemingly.

On a more positive note, I see Jamshed re-learned the art of double figures.

Are the majority of UAE players pakistanis? Is there any good player there which we can rope in :morgan
