Pakistan head into the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka with a 1–0 lead after a confident six-wicket win in Dambulla. Shadab Khan starred with both bat and ball, while Sahibzada Farhan’s fluent 51 ensured a smooth chase in the series opener — a performance that sets the tone for Pakistan’s T20 World Cup preparations.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, will be desperate to bounce back and keep the series alive. Their batting faltered under pressure, and the bowlers couldn’t defend a modest total. With the home crowd behind them, they’ll need a sharper all-round effort today to halt Pakistan’s momentum and force a decider.

Squads:

Pakistan: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmad, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Nafay (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan (wk), Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan (wk), Usman Tariq

Sri Lanka: Dasun Shanaka (C), Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Janith Liyanage, Kamindu Mendis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushan Hemantha, Traveen Mathew, Dushmantha Chameera, Matheesha Pathirana, Nuwan Thushara, Eshan Malinga.

I suppose they will stick to the winning team again I was hoping either samad or nafay could be tried but seems winning a useless series is more important to the coach just keep the seat warm for babar to comeback if they think they are going to do well in the t20 world cup with accumulators I am afraid they are in for a shock.

Probably a less than 10over/side contest today. Since the WC is there, it is a good prep to get used to of this scenario.

Toss Update - 2nd T20I

The toss for the 2nd T20I between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been delayed due to rain.

Further updates will be shared in due course.

UPDATE - 2.14 pm GMT - It is looking like a long wait folks. First, the light drizzles have turned their pace on and currently, it's completely pouring in Dambulla. Second, the ground is entirely covered with thick blue covers, so if and only if the rain stops, the groundsmen will need some time to clear the water logged on the covers

So like Women team the men side will also get eliminated due to usual rainy weather next month
It’ll be hilarious after all the posturing we did about the hybrid model.

Most definitely we will have washed out games in Sri Lanka, it just rains all year over here.

No chance of UAE being co host. Why should SL's right to host be taken away?

All of PAK's matches should happen only in SL

Can’t shift venues now.

I’m sure lots of Pakistanis have bought tickets/flights/accomodation in Colombo.

We have to deal with this now

Slightly off-topic- who will be in advantage if there is a 5 over rain-interrupted game between Pak and India?

Pak batting struggled against Kuldeep recently and get defensive against him. Limiting to one over will be an advantage for Pak in my opinion. The less they face him, the more confident Pak would be against India in a rain interrupted game. A washed game will also benefit Pak.

I think it gives Pakistan an advantage.
