We all know the MIS adventures of the British empire and how their policy of divide and rule prevailed and broke sub continent into what it is today.

71 years later England cricket team will re-unite the sub continent as one. On 30th June, India is all set to take on England and with recent losses against Australia and Sri lanka, England looks vulnerable. If Pakistan win against NZ today they will have a good chance of progressing to the semi finals. Bangladesh as well have a good chance to proceed to the semi finals.

However both these nations rely on their arch rivals India to defeat England in order to go through to the semi finals.

So come 30th June, when India faces England entire sub continent will be supporting India in their bid to defeat England.

Cricket lovers from Pakistan in particular have always been kind towards Indian cricket team as mentioned many times by various ex players. However it will be interesting to see how will the haters react. We have quite a few on PP itself who dislike India so will be interesting to see whether their love for PCT is bigger or whether their hated for anything related to India is bigger.

Would like to take views from everyone. Can England reunite enote sub continent again? 71 years after they divided it?

Mamoon - I am curious to hear your views as well. You have soft corner for both India and England. However you don't want Pakistan to go to Semis based on mediocre performances so who will you support this time around?

Before that first pak and sl have to win their respective games...Let them win those matches and everyone from subcontinent rooting for india

England can be beaten either by newzealand or India and it will open the door for Pakistan. Indias performance will have nothing to do with Pakistan’s future in the tournament as India will only be playing for themselves and not for anyone else. Also, do not drag history and politics of subcontinent into a cricket forum.

Why so much hatred?

We are talking about fans not players. Of course Indian players will play for themselves and for win.

And how is this political? It's simple question the two countries share history. India-pak matches are biggest money makers because of the said history. Nothing political in that.

Are you also one of those people who is filled with hate and cannot accept to support Indian team even if it benefits Pakistani team?

Of course my friend it's based on assumption they will do well. If NZ win against Pak today it's all but over for Pakistan team.

England. India will make the semifinals even if they lose to England.

India will and should focus on winning the game to continue their winning streak if its alive till then and also to end up at the top of the table.. if it helps Pakistan or any other team along the way so be it...

Jinnah saheb broke the subcontinent not the Brits. The Brits admitted that had they known of the Quaid's illness they would have delayed independence. Back on topic as India are likely to tank the Windies today I fear they may lack motivation against England. They'd be happy to see the back of Pak even if it means losing to their former rulers.

no. no need to back india.
if we lose to afghanistan, the match wont matter
and even if england beat india, new zealand will beat england, so no need to support india.

Sorry Pakistan... England is going to expose India's batting weakness badly in the next match.

Who's the Nehru, Jinnah and Mountbatten of this situation ?

Nah, will never do that. Pakistan should have won the matches to qualify for the semi finals. The feeling is simply not the same when you have to depend on other teams to qualify.

For me it's like supporting Man Utd to win helping Liverpool. I will want India to win but wont be cheering their runs or wickets. I dont think it's uniting more of wanting them to win for selfish reasons.

Imagin cheering Indian runs and wickets and they end up losing? :inti
