ALWAR: A chilling video of a son beating and torturing her 82-year-old paralytic mother in a village under the limits of Shahjahanpur police station in Alwar went viral on Friday. The video was shot by her grandson on January 18, nine days before she reportedly died.
The Alwar police have now filed a case against Jogendra Choudhary (50), an English teacher at a local school. He is currently on the run.
In the video, the accused is seen trying to choke the elderly woman multiple times. The woman could be seen in shock, trembling in fear after such a ruthless act by her son.
The police suspect the elderly women died as a result of regular trashing by her son. "The video was shot by one of her grandsons from a window, the grandson wanted to expose how his uncle treated his ailing grandmother who had been dependent on the family after a paralytic attack six months ago," an official of Alwar police said.
he police spoke to the grandson who said that he had recorded the video on January 18. However, the family and villagers said that the elderly woman had passed away on January 27. "Clearly her death has now come under suspicions, we are probing the case," an official said.
"After we verified the authenticity of the video, we called Choudhary to come to the police station for probe. But he did not come, which confirms our suspicion that it was not an isolated case and he had been torturing her mother for past many days," the police official said, adding that an FIR has been filed against Choudhary under multiple sections of the IPC.
