A milestone on the way back to glory days for West Indies cricket

Beating England with big margins in two tests in a row is not a fluke. West Indies invested in young players and waited patiently, and its paying off.
Reminds me the glory days of West Indies cricket, game was richer then and who knows, we might see those days in years to come, sooner than we ever imagined.

Still early too say, but they looked really good especially the bowlers.

I do wonder if it has to do with the conditions? Usually the WI season begins from April on and the wickets then are a lot flatter with spin holding the key. It used to be all Bishoo/Benn etc.

This time they started early in January and the wickets have favoured seam bowlers. England did not have the tuk tuk game to grind it out. A huge disadvantage of having Franchise cricket peformers.

In tests this team always had potential. They just need a big series win to get their confidence going. This series should dot that. They won't be easy to beat at home.

Really happy to see my faith in West Indies pay off. Need to find a decent spinner to compete in Asia now.

Basic ingredients of the current team are very good, they only can improve from here. A young inspiring and more importantly performing captain, young batsmen, many young, tall and pacy fast bowlers like Joseph are coming out and local crowd is coming back to watch cricket.

WI's real test will be two test in July against India. Hope they will be able to make the test series a close one , not expecting to win them any test though.

Strong pace attack, a decent batting unit, but a fantastic leader and captain who gels the team.

Interesting interview with CEO Johnny Grave. It appears things have improved on the administrative stride which is crucial. I'm encouraged to hear his emphasis on A team tours.

CWI had their worst year in decades in 2018 after hosting SL and BD. However 2019 is to be a bumper year with England, India and the World Cup.

Hopefully CWI sort out the financial situation so they can direct more investment into junior and domestic cricket - with the young generation of players like Hetmyer, Joseph and Thomas they can revive interest in the sport across the islands.

Results like yesterday will not help the growth of Caribbean cricket at all. Horrible performance that does no one any favours.
