We need to make an inquiry on whether they even know anything about sports injury?),”

PCB took a huge risk - lets hope Shaheen recovers soon.
 
Rameez is to blame here for sure. He admitted to this plain as day, saying bigger legends like Imran Khan and Wasim Akram have risked playing while holding injuries and so Shaheen should as well.

Really hope it’s not curtains for Shaheen. Careers can end due to knee injuries. If Allah na karay situation gets worse, Shaheen should take legal action Vs PCB.
 
World Cup comes every two years but you don't get into a WC Final every two years.

But yeah if he was having fit even before the World Cup, obviously it was a wrong decision. But he was fit enough to bowl and get into the WT20 best XI, so I believe the damage only happened after that catch.
 
Aqib should be Pakistan’s T20 coach only

Ramiz wanted Shaheen to skip the T-20 WC, However he relented after Babar, Saqlain demanded his inclusion and when Shaheen also requested to be included in the squad. Not everything is Ramiz's fault.
 
Shaheen will recover.No damage was done to his knee according to Dr Peter D’Alessandro the Australian knee specialist.The discomfort was to knee
flexion when his knee landed on the ground.

I don't think that Babar or the coaches would force a half-fit Shaheen to play (they had other options in Hasnain/Dahani who did well in Asia Cup).......and even if they did, the medical panel shouldn't have cleared him to play.

It's the PCB medical panel who messed it up, with both Shaheen and Fakhar being declared fit for selection, when they clearly weren't.

They had messed up Shaheen's case earlier as well by having him tour with the squad for a month instead of sending him to the experts to start his rehab straightaway.

I hope Shaheen and Fakhar recover well and we don't see a repeat of Haris Sohail's case.
 
It almost paid off

If our batsmen had scored 15 to 20 runs more in the final, the result would have been different. Shaheen is one of major reason we were in the final
 
This man Aqib knows all the in outs of Pakistan domestic PSL in fact is the brain behind Qalandars dev. Program the Stars mission alot PCB must hire him as Technical Director like in Football or as Director like ECB has done with Strauss in the past and Key now

The ultimate target for Aqib should be plan for 2023 50 over WC, if only PCB are interested in methods and precision planning rather tukka and luck by chance
 
Easy to say these things but different when you are actually the decision maker.

People would have questioned PCB if Shaheen was even 50% fit and not played.
 
Afridi was fit for the World Cup, his performances speak. It's unfortunate that it's a knee injury again caused by him giving 100% in the field.

He wasn’t fit. He could barely run to the crease in the first two matches. At no point in the tournament was he fully fit and he still bowled beautifully which shows his undeniable class.

PCB took a massive gamble. He is heads and shoulders better than any fast bowler we have produced since the days of Wasim and Waqar and they are playing with his career.

Shaheen should not have played this World Cup and now he would have been raring to go. What is done is done - he should not play a single name until he has 100% recovered.

Yes he will be out of rhythm but it will come back after a few games. He is too good.

Yes he wasn't 100% but he was match fit and consistently performed. The last few games his pace and rhythm were back. The way he commits himself in the field, it's easy to see that he wants to play and no one can tell him otherwise.

His injury didn't aggravate because of him bowling, it was while taking a brilliant catch. These things happen, PCB cant be blamed.
 
How dues any time replace it's best and fast bowlers? Give new ones a chance. Another thick comment by a past has been. There was a time when Shaheen wasn't even in the team.

The same guy who made LQ a laughing stock for 6 years....no thanks

Don't want to see Sohail Akhtar leading Pakistan.
 
His injury came from that catch in the final, how bad or serious it is we dont know, if he hadn't taken the catch , maybe he could have gone on to finish his full 4 overs and maybe the result might have been different .

Its not anyone's fault, just a accident unfortunately to Pakistan main strike bowler that changed the game

Had he not played, ppl would had bashed PCB either way. So yes, easy to talk when we dont have to make the decision

“Shaheen is now resting because he once again had his knee injured in the same place"

“I think Shaheen should rest for at least 2-3 months for recovery and be careful while fielding.”

“He has to play very carefully now and PCB will also have to make sure,” Shahid said.
