Aamir Sohail wants Najam Sethi to resign if case not proven against accused players

Karachi: Pakistan's former Test captain Aamir Sohail has called on Najam Sethi, a top official of the PCB, to resign if the board fails to prove spot-fixing allegations against suspended players Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif and Shahzaib Hasan.

"Najam Sethi had said very loudly after the PCB announced the spot-fixing scandal in the Pakistan Super League that there was concrete and strong evidence against the players to punish them. But so far nothing has happened," Sohail said in an interview.

Sethi, who heads the PCB's executive committee, is also chairman of the PSL and was one who informed the media about the spot-fixing scandal and suspension of players.

"His recordings are present where he said repeatedly the board had enough evidence to take action against the players. If this is not done now he should resign," Sohail said.

Seth being the egoistic man he is will make sure that the alleged spot fixers are penalised even if they are innocent because now this case is much greater than the fate of Pakistan cricket or what is right or wrong, now this is about Najam Sethi's respect. ....or the lack of it.

Does this mean that Amir Sohail knows that the evidence so far is not sufficient and will not stick so he is anticipating that PCB case will fall apart?

What inside information does Amir Sohail has?

PCB saw evidence of corruption, they took action and tried to root it out, why go after Sethi for that?

I can't for the life of me understand why Sethi is part of PCB set up in the first place !! But pretty much agree with Sohail.

He has made a valid point, if sethi has strong evidence then why hasn't it been shown it yet? Why the delay?

i agree Sethi made it out that there was clear evidence of Sharjeel fixing but now its unclear what happened. If it was just Sharjeel failing to report an approach which is still wrong but isnt life ban worthy then Sethi should resign.
