AB de Villiers to skip PSL for 'managing workload'

Better to have players who want to play in Pakistan rather than those looking to make some quick money and not go to Pakistan.

He should be black listed. Similarly Chris Gayle is a golden sign up for all other T-20 leagues world wide but he couldn't buy a run in the PSL and went unsold from PSL 3 onwards

de Villiers might not be coming for whatever reason, but he did much better in the short time than Gayle. If he had more players around him that were doing better for LQ, they could've gone farther despite him playing only 7 games.

I guess he doesnt want to burn the bridges as one day he might want to cross them again.

I cant say with certainty that he doesnt want to tour Pakistan or it might actually be the workload management. But, even if he doesnt want to travel, saying it would mean that if he ever wants to play PSL again either he wont be considered because of what he said or he will have to shift his stance big time.

His extraordinary talent aside he looks like a confused individual as he showed with the developments with SA management before the WC as well after clearly retiring form the team. He burned that bridge and it didnt end well.

Exactly what I am implying. He doesn't want to visit Pakistan but also wants to keep that door open incase he needs to earn more money. That's just cowardly and doesnt suit a player of his stature.

Lol it’s totally what suits him. The guy who walked out on his country a year before the WC, only to make himself available 2-3 days before the opening game of the WC.

This is AB ‘selfish Mercenary’ De Villiers.

Indians get gassed about him preferring IPL, but why wouldn’t they because it’s not their money out of their pockets that he is so desperately after.

I am referring to the fact that all this talk about 'big player' and 'stature' then he shouldnt be worried about the possible consequences of admitting that he is just not interested in visiting Pakistan because lets admit it.It's blatantly there for everyone to see and that's not something that suits a 'big player' like AB.

Not really a big loss judging by last year performances - I dont think he can score runs on tough pitches now that he has stopped playing international cricket and doesn't practice as much. He will still score enough in IPL to keep himself going on batting paradise. But even in IPL he wont score as much as he used to.

Tough pitches in Pakistan?

Tough pitches in Pakistan?

Pitches in Pakistan will not be as flat as they are in IPL/CPL/BBL as most of the games will be played in one or two venues and the pitches wont be as fresh as they are for IPL with 8 different venues.

Please don't club India and Pakistan together. No team ever rejected India tour based on safety issues even when BCCI was **** poor. Just check when was the last time Aus visited Pak.

I wasn't referring to the safety aspect.

It's pretty obvious that pre 2010's, players did not have much money or decision making power.

Since the T20 leagues have come into play they can now justify making decisions against their boards because they already have millions.
