Moeen bats better.
He spins it more
He has more control.
He seems to get more wickets.

He obviously fields better.

What kind of weird selection was Rashid?

What is the purpose of Adil Rashid?

Honestly speaking do not understand why he plays. Bowled only 2 overs, not that effective as a batsman and plays a specialist fielder. England could have played Ollie Pope and strengthened their batting. Either play woakes if he is fit or Pope as a specialist batsman for the next game.

To get Kohli out every other game.

And to pound some runs at the end, the way an Indian lower order batsman can only dream of.

Moeen Ali has lot more to offer than adil rashid. Rashid is a good LOI bowler but in test matches, he is nowhere near Moeen Ali.

England should better continue with these bits-and-pieces cricketer. Their main batters can't hit hundreds anyways.

Lol India is regarded as the best players of spin on earth while Pakistani batsmen are regarded as considerably weaker. But lol Moin has really feasted on Indian batsmen whereas Pakistani batsmen for the most party feast on Moen Ali's bowling.

Next match

01.Jennings (Final match)
02.Bairstow (try as an opener)
03.Cook (move down)
04.Root (he's comfortable at 4)
05.Moeen
06.Stokes
07.Buttler
08.Curran
09.Woakes
10.Broad
11.Anderson

5 seamers + 1 spinner, with Woakes batting at #9.

Both of them should play. Rashid is an X-factor who can get you a wicket when no one else can. England have enough all-rounders to always play the four pacers + two spinners combination and there is no need for them to move away from that.

Anderson/Curran
Broad
Woakes
Stokes

Ali
Rashid

England's best combination up till and including the next Ashes.

India used to be the best against spin but not anymore. They neither have the best spinners, nor the best players of spin.

Said it before in the previous Tests, giving Rashid a go in the side is a wasted spot. They barely bowl him and then when they do it's to the lower-order, or just before a specific break. Really weird by England and the team-management.

Problem is Moen is good against India but you can't say the same against other teams but considering the other options England has right now Moen should be there in the team, consistency is also an issue with him.

I really like Moen , and I think posters should look past the bias of certain posters to see what good players Amla and Moen have been.

MOTS against South Africa and the only reason Pakistan only won two tests against England and not three back in 2016. He's done well against almost everyone at home and has had good tours of South Africa and India, with ball and bat, respectively. The only place he's failed has been down under because he's just not the right kind of player to succeed there. He does not like bounce and being an off-spinner, he's not suited to bowling there either.

Rash is a very good One day bowler. Should be picked ahead of mo. However in tests mo is miles ahead.

Moeen has been a demon in home conditions which is why I was surprised he wasn’t picked in the first place...

At home is he didn’t pick up many wickets he would invariably make crucial runs.
Was made a scapegoat after the Ashes fiasco.

Rash was picked ahead to Mo because Rash was a lot more threatening in the preceding LOI series. Ed Smith is known to reward performance in one format by calling up in the other. Although it wasn't necessarily a bad decision. Moeen is way better as a batter though.
