After a promising start, what has gone wrong for Multan Sultans?

Multan Sultans are now dependent on other results to qualify for the playoffs. After a promising start why have they fallen short?

just look at some of the names on their roster - Shehzad, Shan Masoon, Sohaib Maqsood, Gul, Tanvir, Junaid, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Abbas...

which one of these is a dependable T20 player

They were never that good... Sanga was carrying the side and now age may have caught up with him in a long tournament. Maqsood had one fluke innings and Shehzad is probably the worst opener in the PSL after Shafiq. Badar is failing like no tomorrow and Malik can't play pace. Pollard is definition of hit or miss.

Also how can you not play another spinner? They Irfan Junior the leggie yet he didnt play one single game. Also had an offspinner in Abdullah Shafique. The only change they made is Junaid out, Gul in in the local's quota. That tells it all.

Heard he bowls some off-spin as well. But yea they could have tested more of the local talents instead of sticking to guys like Junaid, Tanvir and Shehzad.

Irfan, the leggie, should’ve been picked long ago. Seems he can get games in the BPL as a foreign player but can’t get a game in his own league.

I think teams have worked them out and worked out their tactics which have ben predictable.

Also there is an over reliance on Sanga and Malik and Imran Tahir with the ball.

Unfortunately a lot of their players have failed to deliver.

I think Multan is a good team as they're taking care of almost every 2014/15/16 past players.

Every team should be like Islamabad in terms of young Pakistani talent.
