Can't say we're surprised but Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan have once again landed on Forbes' 100 highest-paid entertainers list this year!
What we are surprised by is Shah Rukh Khan's absence; a regular on the list, SRK didn't make the cut in 2018. While Akshay bagged the 76th spot, Salman Khan wasn't too far behind on the 82nd rank.
According to the list, 50-year-old Akshay Kumar earned $40.5 million this year whereas Khan raked in $37.7 million.
The list has been topped by American boxer Floyd Mayweather with earnings of $285 million dollars. Among the other highest-paid entertainers are actor George Clooney (second), reality TV star and businesswoman Kylie Jenner (third), soccer stars Lionel Messi (8) Cristiano Ronaldo (10), tennis icon Roger Federer (23), chef Gordon Ramsey (33), singer Beyonce (35) and author J K Rowling (42) to name a few.
Forbes said the world’s 100 top-earning entertainers pulled in a combined $6.3 billion pretax over the past 12 months, up 22% from last year and 11 superstars crossed the $100 million threshold, more than double the number from the last two years combined.
