shoaib khan (i know he sucks but had no option to pick him)

i put afridi here cause i'm sure pakistan will lose an early wicket, most probably of shoaib khan...

If we are to win this some serious changes need to be made in our batting order.

We need to score heavily off the Lankan fast bowlers before Mendis comes in.

I'd open with Kamran and Butt and then have Fawad coming in at 3 and try to get at least 50 runs in the first 5 overs.
 
Hope we win this one. The amount of times i've seen teams who clearly deserve to win the final as well as winning ALL their group games, lose when it really matters!:(

Here, I'm going to make a post that I can refer to when the match ends in favor of Pakistan.

The national cricket team of Pakistan is going to beat Sri Lanka in the final of the Al-Barakah T20, and will lift the Al-Barakah trophy, a gleeful, united group, much to the dismay of a select-group of people on this board who term themselves as "passionate fans."
 
Dont think the Mendis factor is that great. He will get wickets (thats what he does), so aslong as we keep scoring it will be ok.

I predict 3 wickets for him - and a Pakistan win.

Is Mendis really that good. Other than youtube, i have never really seen him play.
 
very bad news at the toss .. i've a feeling shoaib and salman will bat to slowly and then mendis will come in and keep us from accelerating !
 
I'm a bit disappointed that so many people are scared of Mendis. If our supporters are like this, then imagine how our batsman are!!

I don't think batting 1st is that bad.If we have batted 2nd someone might have said,Ohh no we have to face Mendis on a deteriorating pitch.

True about the bravery bit Mohsin! It's all about how you play the guy as it's not impossible they just need to watch him carefully and then play accordingly! InshahAllah I hope they play him well!
 
who else is tired of alll these stupid pakistani commercials on ary tv....damn can't they put something new, i have been watching the same ads over and over again for last 4 days

We should come out aggressive. Get them on the back foot immediately. Force them to blink and keep their eyelids firmly shut.

Akmal and Fawad should have gone up the order !
 
Interesting that Jayawardena stated that Pakistan prefers to chase wasn't too long ago (Especially under Wasim & Waqar)we were hapless at chasing in limited overs cricket. I reckon Inzi and Bob get a little bit of credit for teaching the current lot how to chase down totals. Players like Malik,MYK and Misbah have been developed in that set up.
