Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha spoke about Pakistan’s recent form and the mindset going into the tri-series final against Sri Lanka. This is what he said:
"We've been playing very good cricket for the last two or three months. And yesterday's match – it was obviously unfortunate we could not finish, but the way we came back from four wickets down in the powerplay is a very good thing, and we're looking forward to the final."
"In every batting meeting, we talk about how there were too many collapses because a good partnership was going, then when one wicket fell, three or four would gather. So it's all about taking responsibility, every individual. All of us, as individuals, are taking responsibility, which is why I think we can say that there still is that thing, that collapse, but not as consistently as before. And we talk about this a lot and are trying to improve it a lot."
"To be honest, we've been playing for the last two months – both the one-dayers and the South Africa home series before that. So I think we need to play the same cricket like we have been doing, because it is working adequately."
"And... I mean, it's the final, obviously, the final, you know... whether it's a tri-nation or any other tournament, it's important. And the next matches, the matches that are ahead, all that preparation is for the World Cup. So, keeping that in mind, we'll play this final tomorrow, Insha'Allah."
