I have made a combined South Africa-Australia test team against that of all-time combined West Indies-Pakistan teams.

Very close but I would back West Indies-Pakistan side with their more diverse and potent bowling attack containing the crucial element of reverse swing and their more destructive batting line up with the likes of Viv ,Sobers and Lara.In all conditions West Indies -Pak xi would have the edge.Possibly neck to neck in Australia on the bouncy tracks or even South Africa.Gary Sobers and Imran Khan would make the crucial difference.

West Indies-Pakistan easily. A bowling unit of Marshall-Imran-Wasim is going to blow away all sides in all conditions. Add Qadir and Sobers into the mix and wow, what a line up! Lara with the touch of grace and Javed with his street skills will only add more wind to Viv's fire. Thanks for this wonderful idea of West Indies-Pakistan XI. It made my day.

Probably Gavaskar gets into the XI ahead of Cook but I think Cook scored in more challenging conditions throughout his career.

... and yet he scored a zero in his final innings. Don never faced the class of Marshall and Wasim, I expect them to give him a tough time.

Batting lineup of SA-AUS XI is better.
They have bradman, that guy was a freak. They do not have swashbuckling batsman but greg, barry, pollock, kallis are all atgs.

Bowling lineup of PaK WI looks better but add dale steyn for procter and they will be almost equal.
