This is my xi of the most technically correct or cricketers. It is not a judgement of pure class.Only technical perfection and level of completeness.

1.Barry Richards/Sunil Gavaskar
2.Len Hutton/Hanif Mohammad
3.Don Bradman (C)
4.Sachin Tendulkar
5.Greg Chappell
6.Gary Sobers
7.Alan Knott
8.Wasim Akram
9.Ray Lindwall
10.Michael Holding
11.Subhash Gupte

No batsmen held a bat straighter as Hutton or Gavaskar.Bradman and Tendulkar and Greg Chappell were the ultimate epitome of batting perfection in blending technical skill with agression.Although unorthodox Bradman posessed supreme technical skill. No cricketer posesesd all-round cricketing skill as Gary Sobers who took cricketing skills to region s unexplored.Alan Knott acheived perfection behind the stumps.Ray Lindwall was arguably the most complete of all right-arm pacemna.Wasim Akram took all-round bowling skill to regions of the divine posessing every component of a perfect fast bowler. For sheer actiOn no paceman acheived as much a degree of perfection as Michael Holding who posesed the grace of a bird flying inspite of lightning speed. From the technical point of view Subash Gupte arguably overshadowed the great Shane Warne.

Reccomend to read how high past cricketers trade Ray Lindwall and Subhash Gupte.Sobers rated Gupte ahead of Warne while Denis Compton rated Lindwal ahead of Lillee.

Virat Kohli gets in that XI for me. There's nothing unorthodox about his batting and is an ATG!!

Simply not the technical equal of Tendulkar or Greg Chappell.

Rahul Dravid was technically better than Tendulkar.

Some would argue that he was the most technically correct batsman ever produced by India, with Gavaskar and G R Vishwanath following closely.

I would replace Alan Knott with Gilchrist, Ray Lindwall with Malcolm Marshall (arguably the best pace bowler ever) and Subhash Gupte with Shane Warne or Murali. Also Viv should be there. None could match his brilliance and aura in his heyday. His stats don't do justice to his talent. He averaged in the high 50s in the early part of his test career

Sir very good choice of Dravid.Almost Tendulkar's equal technically but just a whisker below.Even Vishy was technically a giant ,just shade below Gavaskar.Dravid was harder to dismiss particularly on bad wickets making moire adjustments and had more concentration but in term sof pure game I feel Sachin had more all-round skill.Asess balance and strokes inside the 'V.'like your response.

Viv would make my all-time team being a superstar but here I am only asessing technical skill.Gupte in that regard may have edged Warne while technically Greg Chappell was ahead of Viv .

Bradman? Hutton? Sobers? Richards?

No doubt their technique was great for their era and was a blueprint for modern batsmen however compared to today’s standards their technique was poor and almost club level..

Gavaskar
Boycott
Kallis
Tendulkar
Dravid
Gilchrist (wk)
Botham
Imran
Akram
Marshall
Warne

Nonsense.Arguably there are no batsmen of equal stature in the game today.Modern greats rate Viv amongst the top 3 if not the best batsmen they ever saw. Most Pak players rate Viv the best ever like Wasim Akram,Inzamam and Saed Anwar.Infact many old timers were technically better .

Great list. Thankfully no Dravid, who is overrated as technically correct. Second highest number of times clean bowled. Even percent wise one of the highest.

WHere did Viv come from? I was talking about Barry Richards.. Even Viv wasn’t the most technically sound however he was ahead of his time in fearlessness, hand eye coordination and power and timing..

If you think Bradman, Hutton, sobers we’re technically better than modern batsmen then you are just filled with nostalgia and delusion.. The game has evolved and Bradman is like the 1960’s race car and modern batsmen are like Today’s Ferrari or McLaren.. this is not to berate any old timers cox without them the blueprint for modern batting would not have been set so they were great for their time however you can put a list of best ever technically and then put old timers whose technique is worse than a 15 year old random club cricketer these days..

If you can’t get this simple point then I can’t say anything else..

I have replied such stuff enough.Like others with great knowledge like MMHS ,Robert,Junaid,Bilal.etc to contribute.I am sure they can refute such stuff deriding greats of the past claiming their standard was inferior. Please come back here.

I have seen your replies to Tusker and others post and no where did any reply seemed knowledgable.. Mamoon wrote a nice post with details and pictures about the technique which is what a knowledgable post looks like..

I don’t see why you would think I am belittling players from the past I have said they are legends of their era and did set a blueprint for modern batsmen and technique so their achievements should be respected.. However when you make a random 11 with best 11 technique wise you can’t have players from the amateur era just because compared to today’s batsmen there technique was amateurish..

If you can’t ynderstand this simple point then God help you..
