With the Covid-19 crisis effecting everyone of us - a lot of people now turning to homeopathic medicine.

I would like to know how many people believe in this form of medicine?

Might as well try Cow Urine.

As per some of the News I read, there is cure for Carona in Homeopathy. Well, Homeopathy has cure for everything. You just have to take some sugar balls.

Used homeopathy medicines and they are useful no doubt. But now adays you won't find a good homeopathy doctor thats why this form of treatment is going down day by day.

But scientists should try, nature has cure of everything ;)

Homeopathic medicines can't fix a headache let alobe Corona. Homeopathic works well as a placebo and that's about it.

Well, I did see a WhatsApp video from a Pakistani uncle ("doctor"): he was recommending hot water 3 times a days to kill off Covid19

I have never wanted to experiment with alternative medicine, but after someone insisted, I tried homeopathy. I had a wrist injury which wasn’t getting better. The doctors said that only a complex surgery could fix it but advised me against it. Homeopathy has helped me reduce the pain significantly. I couldn’t move my hand without hurting but now I am able to do everything without any pain.

It has also cured my sore throat, back ache, and reduced occurrence of common cold..

That said, I don’t believe homeopathy would have an answer to coronavirus. It’s a different beast all together.

No. Might crank your immune system up via placebo effect, mind.

Please stay away from homeopathic medicine for covid 19 infection, most of them contain steroids which decrease your immunity and can cause more harm than good. Try only evidence based medicine , don;t be too edventurous, please.

As getting hold of Doctor is impossible- my wife had a fever on Sunday and we isolated her, since Sunday she has been fine, no coughing( she didnt have that problem) or fever since. How long should the isolation period be-7 days or 14 days?

Good explanation of what homeopathy really is:

Natural remedies to fight a common flu like drinking plenty of hot herbal tea and gargling with salt water is a good idea. You want to remain hydrated. This helps the natural protection mechanism in the lungs and throat to do its work.

have started taking black seed oil supplement. there were some papers linking past coronavirus (not covid19) treatment with black seed oil and/or common ingredient in it and chloroquine.

there is also hadith with message that it has cure for every disease except death, and in general its supposed to be a good supplement with various benefits.

i have also heard about that warm water / hair dryer thing from someone in US , their brother who is a doctor. not sure if scientific backing on that either. but if someone has nothing to lose whats the harm.

I agree taht one should give different things a try, sometimes a medication or technique might work in isolation but then trying a number of things simultaneously might work really effectively.

If she had fever for just one day and no cough and no respiratory issue, most likely she didn't have covid 19 infection but obviously no way to be 100% sure. Patents with covid 19 infection discharged from hospital, we recommend them to isolate themselves for 7 days as long as they have no fever with out using any fever medication. Considering everything I think if she can be isolated for 7 days, that would be quite safe. Meanwhile keep trying to reach out your doctors, situation at every place is different.

Thanks. We only used Paracetamol and nothing else.

I don't know what Homeopathy is but in America, Osteopathic physicians (DOs) are licensed doctors and are allowed to practice and prescribe medicines like MDs - their practice is actually very similar, the only difference is that DOs have a more holistic approach of treatment and tend to work in primary care, personally I don't believe in osteopathy but it can't do any harm, it's more like physical therapy.

its pretty prevalent in Pakistan - and a few people saying they can prevent Covid by its use

If homeopathy is medicine, then I’m the heir to the British throne.

Homeopathy is generally prescribed in poor countries, specifically the subcontinent. So in India you might get "experts" prescribing cow urine or faeces as a homeopathic remedy for coronavirus. I am not knocking it by the way, for all we know it might work.

In Africa the practitioners might be called witch doctors. Never really heard of their homeopathic cures though, perhaps this thread will educate on this as we go along.

Pakistan says trial of Chinese traditional medicine for Covid-19 successful

Local health authorities on Monday announced the completion of a successful clinical trial of Chinese traditional herbal medicine for treating Covid-19, as Pakistan enters a fifth wave of the pandemic driven by the Omicron variant.

The Chinese medicine, Jinhua Qinggan Granules (JHQG) manufactured by Juxiechang (Beijing) Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, is already being used in the treatment of Covid-19 patients in China.

“Since it was tried on patients with different variants of Covid-19, we expect it to be effective on Omicron as on other variants,” Professor Iqbal Chaudhry, director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Science (ICCBS) in Karachi, where trials were conducted, told reporters.

The trials were conducted on 300 patients who were treated at home, and would work on mild to moderate Covid-19 cases, Dr Raza Shah, principal investigator in the trials, told reporters, adding that the efficacy rate was around 82.67 per cent.

The trials were approved by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan.

The country reported 4,340 Covid-19 cases on Monday, the highest recorded in a 24-hour period in three months. Karachi, the country's largest city, recorded a positivity rate — the percentage of tests coming back positive — of 39.39pc at the weekend, the highest so far.

“In the last seven days, Covid cases in Pakistan have increased by 170pc while deaths have also increased by 62pc,” the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC), which is overseeing the pandemic response, said in a statement on Monday.

I find this exceptionally hard to believe. The so called traditional medicines, whether they are from china or India’s Ayurveda or good ole
Homeopathy are all junk.

Unless this dude publishes his results, this is meaningless.
