Any examples of Muslim countries where they successfully got rid of extremism, militancy, violence?

The problems in Pakistan where our population is 200 million plus, Foreign Debts of $100 billion, economic turmoil, rising cost of living especially for young people starting out their careers and then you have a terrible law and order problem where political parties have their goons running around collecting bribes, religious extremists and parties assasinating and target killing people for religious reasons, an entire country going up in flames over contentious issues like the Blasphemy Law, Ahmedi's e.t.c.

Is there any Muslim country around the world which once battled such problems where it seemed impossible for them to fix all these problems, get rid of them but now is an Islamic State in Title but a very Secular and Tolerant state in practice where Foreigners from all around the world freely visit for holidays, tourism, business e.t.c

My vision and desire for Pakistan is to be like Dubai in terms of lifestyle

I can’t remember Dubai batting with extremism

Tunisia is a good example , So is medieval France

Egypt?

If Pakistan wants to be like the UAE then they’ll need a dictator, who’ll put fear into the citizens.

200M+ population of a large country can't be like a city of couple of millions.

The key word is: "corruption".

It's an ugly word. It infects the whole system.

It is like a human body with cancer. If one part is corrupt (cancer infected); the rest of body won't be able to function properly.

If our society becomes corruption free, we gonna be alright! 🦅

Corruption Free is very idealistic thinking. All societies have corruption in them, but ofcourse the West has checks and balances, rule of law and much lesser levels compared to the third world. Pervez Musharraf and Ashir Azeem have many times explained that the entire government machinery, bureacracy becomes cripled with fear whenever the govt adopts a ruthless anti corruption stance because bureacrats, government servants take ten times longer to make decisions because they want to check everything properly to make sure there are no mistakes out of fear of having to face NAB enquiries, some just decide to leave and do something else because the stress is not worth it anymore, Pakistan is not an ideal society and it costs the govt way more to punish small crimes than the benefits derived from it.

Double edged sword
