Which medical school do you go to? Is it hard 2 study medicine?

I have a question for student medics.

Is is true that some students drop out when they are faced with the reality of disecting a dead body during their training?

I am going in for pharmacy, next year will be my first year! Start on August 25, 2008!

I am doing my majors in Chemistry!

Any idea if that is a good idea, if I am going for Pharmacy?

Hardly, if any. We were faced with dead bodies in our second week. Actual dissections differ in different colleges. Some will allow it more, some wont. Dead bodies available for dissection are expensive and hard to come by in Pakistan.

No time to drop out as we got our dead bodies on the first day of class :O

Anyways ... the real fun begins when you start dissecting the live bodies ;-)

Not a medico, but I've worked for healthcare/medical device companies most of my working life (all of 10 years lol).

I'm 4th year at Leicester Uni. Life seems easy till exams come round and then you wonder why you put yourself through this torture.

Not in Med School but work for one of the Ivy league Med School as their Curriculum IT Person. I hate my work when I have to work in one of those Gross Anatomy Labs. They are simply GROSS. Other than that life is good and the best part is free advice on any medical situation from one of the leading Med. faculty in the USA.

yar, i am done wid this whole stuff!
Now i am relaxing , bcoz my speciality isnt that tuff!
No routine cals.

While doctors in Punjab and Sindh struggle to make ends meet, K-P emerges as a heaven for doctors

We used to get Rs 24k during housejob (2014) at Civil Hospital Karachi. The stipend at CHK is the same last I heard, although those at Jinnah (another government hospital) are getting Rs 36k. Sindh has perhaps the worst situation, and this was one of the reasons I gave up medicine to explore other career options. Too much work, too much effort, too little reward (monetary or satisfaction). Will resume my practice once I have a steady stream of income from other sources and practice medicine solely for the sake of serving humanity.

Does the KPK government have quota for Doctor's with Sindh domicile ?

KTH and LRH pay 50k/month to Medical Officers. PTI has certainly done well on this front.

I don't think so. Private hospitals maybe, but not sure about government hospitals. Last I checked, government hospitals were pretty nitpicky about domiciles and quotas. The first priority goes to graduates of the attached medical school, then to the doctors having a KPK domicile and then to those having a foreign domicile.
