Does it hurt?

Trust me, the one I made yesterday made me almost go crazy during the process. I've probably never felt such excruciating pain before in my life. It almost made me regret my decision to go for a tattoo, but once it was done I was glad. It's terribly painful, takes a lot to go through the entire process.

The pain can't be explained, it can only be experienced.

It's not so bad, you big crybaby :P

I have two small ones, one on each arm.

I have one around my waist. Have to get it removed if I want to get married. Heard laser surgery can remove it, or is it better to get something drawn on top of it?

Not so bad? I almost lost my mind yesterday during the whole process. Also my one is large in size, and a lot of shading involved.

it is someone's name who has no importance in my life.

One of the Auntys you Monster? :afridi

I admire your choice of Auntys, but getting their names on your waist was really a bad choice.

I have seen people who removed their tats through laser removal, but it was still visible due to color difference. If you marry, I am sure your wife will find out.

It was stupid of me to try to impress someone by getting a tattoo done. It is strategically placed. But later I regretted that I didn't respect my body. I am just weighing my options whether to get it removed, or over write it.

When I was getting the tattoo done, the artist told me that people regret having names inked on their body, but I still went ahead. Hormones can really make you stupid.

You could simply find a spouse with that name. Problem solved.

Unless its a very rare name.

Make up a story over it and blame your youthful exuberance. Hopefully your future wife would agree to it.

If name is the only one on your waist, just add a Kumar or Singh or Rao or Mukherjee and make it look like a boy name. Tell your wife that it was your best friend from your childhood whom you have no clue where he is now.

I know you will be lying to your wife. But it is the easiest way I think.

Or before getting married with her you can start to call her by that name and make her get use to it so that after marriage whe she sees it she will be happy instead of bombarding her electronic anger :D

The most important factor determining how your tattoo will look is your aftercare for around 2 weeks after it's done.

Do Henna tattoos count? Or those sticker ones inside chewing gum?

I've had both of those done. Once I got a butterfly which was really psychedelic.

I've never really changed in my view that tattoos make men look unkempt and women look cheap.

Ironic considering your tattoo of a man who went through the most excruciating torture.

Hitman needs to find The Lament Configuration for a true experience in pain. Makes tattoo pain seem like a tickle.

I can't get tattoos because I have dry skin and always had suffered from Eczema.

Here's a better picture

^^^^ Cool. The on on your left looks alot more complicated. Thanks for the info there. Will look more into it.

Wow that Jesus tattoo looks really nice!

I admire certain tattoos on others but would never get one done myself.

What do you have planned next? Would you ever consider getting a full back tattoo? Something like this perhaps:

^^ No, not on my back. I want my tattoos to be visible to me. Here's one design I'm eyeing, although it will be heavily edited by my artist with colors all around and other shades. The basic outline will be the same, but will change the word 'God' with 'Jesus'.

P.S. Will also edit the tattoo on my right bicep (where it's written 'Jesus Is Lord') with a lot of colors and shadings.

If you are lazy and not going to build muscles those tattoos won't look good. In 3 years time you will need a burger eating baby tattoo on your tummy.

Those ankle tattoos that women sometimes get are ok i guess. Actually anything mostly hidden from view is ok.

Other than that, agreed

I'd love to get a tattoo one day. Not sure when or what it would be though.

Like Tatoos ,but don't think will ever get one, been planning one for past 8 years now lol.

How much does it cost over there in North east? Is it per inch?

My latest one was for free :))

The artist is a friend of mine who works in one of his relative's tattoo studio. He wanted Rs. 10,000 urgently. So he offered to make a tattoo for me free of charge if I lent him the money. But I did pay Rs. 2000 to him at the end. He's an artist after all, and I didn't want him to work for absolutely free.

Yes, the price here in per inch, different for color and black tattoos.

What tattoo would you get if you got one?

yin yang

Get one done, man. It's an awesome experience.

I know and there is one near my home too now,not sure what is stopping me.

Here's one that I made in September of last year. But it got infected, and it needed a touch up after a couple of months. This one is the real deal.

P.S. Sorry for the poor image quality.

At one time they used to look quite striking, when I was a small child I saw a Bollywood movie with a fellow with a small tattoo of the sun on his bicep and I thought it looked so rebellious. Now they are ten a penny, everyone has them and they look common.

One question.

Why would you get a tattoo. Seems like a pointless thing to me.

Tattoos have been around in human civilisation even before the advent of monotheistic religion, around the neolithic period. So there could be more to the idea of getting tattoos then meets the eye.

Not a fan, ruins your natural look imo. Just my opinion. But no judgement on anyone who does, it's their body.

Same with piercings.
