I've seen videos of the protests and it's crazy! There are like tens of thousands of brainwashed people out on the streets standing up against each other, like there's no way this can't lead to a massive spike in covid cases and subsequently more death and hospitilzations and the inevitable collapse of the Pakistan healthcare infrastructure. Worst part is Pakistan hasn't even vaccined a fraction of its population.

These new variants/mutants are a question of when, not if. A Brazil variant took all of 2 weeks to spread all over the world, as did the South African and UK variants.

The reality is there are thousands of variants already everywhere. Only few getting detected as most countries don't have genome mapping capacity.
