The likes of Maradona played 45 matches per year running 8 km per match.

That’s why at the last two World Cups and Copas America we have seen Messi perform in five minute bursts only, usually two to three of them per match.

Argentina has a coach who likes to defend high up the pitch, but his defenders are too slow to do that.

Worse, they have no width at all.

The attack and midfield are world class, the keeper is English Third Division (League 1) quality and the defence is slow and clumsy.

For Messi's sake I hope Argentina wins but their team at least on paper is much weaker than the likes of Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal even Belgium is stronger than them this time around.

Their attack on its day is of course lethal but their midfield and defense is just not at par with some of these other teams

Agree with the others but not Portugal.Argentina has a better attack that any of the teams you mentioned(except Brazil and Spain).
