QUETTA: At least 22 people, including three policeman and two children, were killed in a suspected suicide attack outside a polling station near Eastern Bypass in Quetta on Wednesday, hospital sources said.

Thirty others were injured in the attack.

The bomb disposal squad has also reached the site of the attack after reports that an unexploded grenade has been discovered.

Rescue sources said the explosion occurred near a police vehicle on routine patrolling.

DIG Abdul Razzak Cheema said the injured have been shifted to Sandeman Provincial Hospital. A state of emergency has been declared at the hospital.

The border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Chaman, Balochistan was closed by the government on Tuesday for two days in the wake of the general election.

Polling across the country for the 11th General Election began at 8am.

Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji'oon.

Their sacrifices will not be forgotten. They died for a noble cause, in an attempt to make the country a better place. May Allah grant them direct Jannah - Ameen.

Very sad.

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un.

An attempt to spread fear,to discourage people from voting. But the terrorists won’t succeed.Insha Allah.

Security agencies once again have failed to keep citizens of Balochistan safe.

These were citizens who turned up to vote and take part in democratic process even though no major political leaders visited Balochistan until Mustang attack.

Another black day for Pakistan.

RIP. Balochistan suffers again. We need to prioritise security in balochistan and FATA . They have suffered enough already

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un illahi. The sacrifices of these people should never be forgotten.
