Starts in just over an hour. Getting dull now this one-sided contest..... :p

Another shocking day for England yesterday.

Last chance saloon to save this series.

Cook and KP needs to lead from the front and come up with special inns. Your country needs you.

Some rain is forecast over the 2 days, so England need to cling on to every hope going and fight as if their lives depend on it.

I'd declare if I were Australia right now and send the English into bat. Already enough on the board and bowlers have rested.

They should play out one session atleast, demoralize the English further and then declare.

They're already demoralized. See no purpose. No point risking a draw more for no real reason.

If England do well against Australia and get some wickets in the first session, England will win back a little momentum. If Australia bat well, it'll show England that the pitch is good for batting.

Much better to put them in first, start of the day. They won't know what the pitch will be like at the start of the day. Thus more uncertainty.

MJ has taken 16 out of the 30 English wickets averaging 8.93 with a strike rate of 20.8

Fair points. Lets see what Clarke does.

English batsmen need to look towards Darren Bravo's knock for inspiration.

BUT, they look like they've already given up mentally.

Plus, there is Mitchell Johnson, Enough said. :akhtar

Come on england! Lets get behind the underdog, was just watching highlightes from yesterday what a knock and fightback from Ian bell! He stood his ground refused to be bully'd by the aussies and really took the fight to them we need more of that on this tour, MJ is brilliant but not as dangerous as the commentators are making him out to be england are completely shot on confidence easily have been giving their wickets away.

Only reason for carrying on batting is to give opportunity to Warner to get his ton. Otherwise they already have more than plenty.

I think they will bat 50 mins/ an hour and then declare.

Pak fans really shouldn't be cheering on the Aussies, we'll lose our #4 ranking if Australia win this series. However, fast bowling is just so enjoyable... From a distance obviously.

Rumour that weather on Monday isn't looking good hence the declaration.

Bell to be promoted to no 3?? Apparently he wants to.

In his current form, England should.

He was the only one who could have dug in and played a long innings, more than anything England need to wear the bowlers down as much as possible.

Cook is going through a horrible patch of form. Good delivery by Johnson though and a better catch by Harris.

Is something wrong with the speed-guns? That first delivery was definitely not 89 mph.

Johnson to Root

91.2 MPH

Have been impressed with Root. He has played Johnson without fear, and not afraid to get behind the line.

England need to take it to Australia. You can't keep defending and allow them to bowl where they want. A bit of positive intent can take you a long way.

Noooooooooooo carbs is gone.

Pulled out of the screws straight to Lyon. Just not going England's way at the moment

Caught by Lyons on the square leg boundary. Pretty similar dismissal to Cook.

KP in.

2 men in the mid wkt region straight away.

That was an excellent catch by Lyons.

England in danger of not lasting till tea.

Another 4 by Root off Johnson, off the back foot square.

Root has been impressive in this test.

Pitch looks pretty flat but there's a bit of turn. England will do well to avoid the loss today.

Johnson troubling Root there, good battle between them.

Partnership is a mere stay of execution and all it proves is that we should have easily drawn this match at the very least. For experienced Test players, batting should be pretty easy here.

Pitch is so flat. Cook and Cranberry must be kicking themselves for playing those shots.

Smith has potential to be a decent leg spinner, I think he should concentrate and work more on his bowling than batting. He has a decent action and can turn miles but balls too many loose deliveries and full tosses.

Root showing impressive temperament against pretty decent bowling atm. It's become a rare sight to see these sort of gentlemanly reactions against a barrage of verbals from bowlers in the modern game. A throwback to the golden days. :boycott

Smith thrashed around as he should be. Both batsmen have 50s now.

He is letting his batting do the talking. The smile is priceless.

That's the way many great batsmen have handled sledging in past. After a while, opposition realizes that sledging is waste of effort and time.

Decent partnership from root and pietersen, they need to stay there till the new ball is taken
