So i take it you guyz are from the uk?

i usually watch the 1st 45 mins maximum then record the rest of the days play and watch it in my free time after college. :)

Lets see Pakistan bat first, Manzoor/Malik scoring a century, and all of us on PP doing a 180 of epic proportions!

I live in Karachi. Don't know about rest. In Pakistan I guess it's 3:45 AM when match starts

If Sarfraz can cement his place in the team during this test so that Kamran is permanently kicked out of the team, I would say --- Australian tour was a huge success for us --- because this means we have gotten rid of the enemy within who caused numerous test, ODI and T20 losses due to his butter fingers --- or is it no fingers?

I live in Holland and thats about 1 hour different in the time as england, I watch till lunch

2 hours of cricket tha I go to sleep. And the enxt day im veryyyyy sleepy on school :''D

I am really hopeful that Sarfraz will do very well and show Akmal how to wicket keep. Having said that I am seeing lots of politics in akmal's teammates who are going to have a new "Sautan".

Sami is the one who started the collapse and I would go with Sami rather than Gul

Akmal is beyond learning at this point. I hope he does not learn and stay out of the team.

Would be interesting to see if/how Umar Akmal congratulates (celebrates) with Sarfraz when Sarfraz takes a blinder of a catch.

I expect a very easy win for Aus here , really cant see pak team mentally up to the challenge after being 2-0 down here ...I hope am proved wrong here , as i would love to see pak pull one back ..but it looks unlikely !

I will consider a huge success if all these rubbish players (batsmen ) kicked out of the team for good .I dont mind even we lose 3-0 which is expected anyway.

+1

if it was an indian team playing , may be i wudnt say this ..but a 3-0 loss might do good for pak , if it leads to dropping for some senior players .

Won't happen. How many seniors were dropped after last three 3-0 drubbings?

when was that?
If 2003 then we did get rid of many seniors

I know its a big 'IF' & as fans its impossible to hope for your teams loss , but i cant see how Pak can retain the same bunch after losing 3-0 !

I am talking about all three series that ended up 3-0 loss;
1999-00, 2002-03 & 2004-05

Who did we get rid of BECAUSE of 0-3 loss?

As I said, all the seniors will be retained as they were after 0-3 losses in last three series vs Australia in 1999-00, 2002-03 and 2004-05.

starts in 2 mins!!!!!

it says so on Pakpassion homepage... :inzi

What could have been such a promising tour for Pak, basically ends up a disaster to add to our endless list of recent disasters.

I wonder how Umar will be feeling like?
This is what I'm interested to see. I wonder if he will change his natural game knowing his big brother isn't there. Also, I'll observe how he deals with life in the field on his own. Obviously, its his batting which I'm more interested in; I don't think he's played any match for Pak without :akmal

Ya, its gonna be a thing to see, if he will perfrom better without his brother. Inshallah, our openers will come out and post a 100+ run partnership, and inshallah Pakistan team will do well from there. :umarakmal

I wonder if :moyo is gift wrapping another Aus victory which he'll hand out on the 4th day lol.

If we win the toss and bat first, inshallah it will be the other way around, Ricky wrapping up and giving us victory on the 4th DAy.

Mods please correct the clock on home page coz its showing the Match Start time as 10hrs 35mins whereas it should be 1hr 35mins

Despite the dissapointment of the last test im looking forward to this - hopefully we can finally grab a win

To be fair as heart broken as we all were after the last match i think before the series most of us said wed be happy if we managed to beat them in even one game...last time we got agonisingly close and inshallah this time we can get the job done :)

where is on the up? I have always seen his predictions work out somehow.
Present

I am hoping for a good performance from Kaneria who should be going in with renewed confidence, and the debutant Sarfraz who would be looking to put in a solid performance behind the stumps. Sarfraz might also bring a determined approach to the batting so lacking in all the other batsmen.

Umar akmal's approach will be interesting to watch and might tell us a bit about this young man's character.

All said and done, I can't see Pakistan putting up enough runs to finally cross that elusive line against Australia, but where there's life there's hope I suppose.

I like your attitude :)

UGH Instead of having Khurram batting three, they should've slotted Kamran at 3 and Sarfraz keeps. He knows how to play the new ball. God the PCB can't do anything right!!

Kamran didn't want to play as a specialist bat.
Plus, he had to be dropped. He was becoming part of the furniture and if theres no competition for your place, performances will always drop.

Didn't want to play? I'm sure if the management took the time, he would have agreed. Team comes first. He's as good a batsman as bad he is a keeper.

For us Katich returns to replace the unconvincing Phillip Hughes.

Aussie eyes will be on 3 players:

Ponting has had a poor run of form and will be looking to do better

Marcus North is averaging 23 this summer and has to make runs here or he won't be on the plane to New Zealand for that series.

Peter Siddle needs wickets or he is probably gone.

Pak will win this one only because they're expected not to. I have a feeling and I don't usually have feelings. I'm a man.

From CricInfo
# In eight Tests at the venue, Australia have won six and drawn two - they have never been beaten

# The ground hosted one of the most memorable Australian Tests in the modern era, when Adam Gilchrist and Justin Langer rescued Australia from 5 for 126 to chase down 369 against Pakistan in 1999-2000

# Faisal Iqbal, Pakistan's No.3, has scored more runs (97) in this series than his opposite number Ricky Ponting (80)

His words, not mine.
He's an ok batsmen, but his away average has always been poor - under 30. Its a difficult scenario because on one hand you have Shoaib 9 lives Malik returning but if you retain Akmal then he can think of himself as an immovable object in the team. The right decision was made not to play him but a fresh batsman should have come instead of Malik.

I will watch this game purely for the purpose of entertainment. Pakistani batting gets so bad that it gives me giggles. :misbah

Everything aside, we have to win this game as we haven't won in Australia for a decade long. All is upto Umar, Asif and Amir.

Good point.

Again?! LOL, well they're batting AGAIN. Bad omen already. :))

10.00am Australian captain Ricky Ponting has won the toss and elected to bat. He says the wicket looks "pretty good." Katich has recovered from the injury that kept him out of the last Test, he comes in at the expence of Phil Hughes.

Mohammad Yousuf concedes he would have liked to have batted first. The Pakistani captain has put the result of the last Test behind him, saying this is a "new game." Kamran Akmal drops out of the side after his poor form last Test, Sarfraz Ahmed is keeping wicket this match. Mohammad Aamer has returned from injury, squeezing Mohammad Sami out of the side. There are also two changes fo the batting line-up: Khurram Manzoor and Shoaib Malik replace Faisal Iqbal and Misbah-ul-Haq at positions three in six respectively.
