2nd Twenty20. SA v/s Australia.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first.

South Africa 1 Herschelle Gibbs, 2 Hashim Amla, 3 JP Duminy, 4 Vaughn van Jaarsveld, 5 Neil McKenzie, 6 Mark Boucher (wk), 7 Albie Morkel, 8 Johan Botha (capt), 9 Dale Steyn, 10 Morne Morkel, 11 Wayne Parnell.

Australia1 Shaun Marsh, 2 David Warner, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Hussey, 5 David Hussey, 6 James Hopes, 7 Luke Ronchi (wk), 8 Cameron White, 9 Nathan Bracken, 10 Ben Hilfenhaus, 11 Shaun Tait.

4 from Tait's first over, Amla not looking very comfortable. Top speed 153.3 kph, everything around 150kph.

Tait hit for 6, then 3, then a single, then 4 leg byes as a short one nearly takes Amla's head off.

Top speed 151 in that over. Funny watching Amla and Gibbs playing him, they are pretty sweet timers of the ball but look very confused dealing with Tait.

That short ball was awesome. Cricindia says: 149.5ks says the speedometer, but methinks its a bit quicker than that! A nasty short ball dug in to get Amla hopping to take evasive action, he does very well to get his head out the way of that ripper and the ball beats Haddin as well.

If only we could get him fit enough to bowl 4 4 over spells a day :(

He needs to lose that tummy of his.

Amla gone now. Hilfenhaun takes it.

Hilfenhaus to Amla, OUT, pulled straight to White at short midwicket! The short ball works for Hilfenhaus, Amla tries to collect from outside off stump but plays it high off the bat to the fielder
HM Amla c White b Hilfenhaus 26 (26b 1x4 1x6) SR: 100.00

40/2 SA in 7 overs. Aus well on top !

Why does the outfield remind me of Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad ?

Hilfenhaus is getting good some decent pace, most of his deliveries are above 140 k.

And some guy goes, Dussey strikes.

Wow ...another one gone...time for Duminy perhaps to play another lone hand.

DJ Hussey to van Jaarsveld, OUT, and it works! Hussey floats that up full on the stumps, van Jaarsveld doesn't get far enough across as he goes for the sweep, and cops it flush on the pad in front of middle and leg
VB van Jaarsveld lbw b DJ Hussey 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

It seems that South Africa have no idea how to approach the game of twenty20. They wasted their first six overs of power play and now that the field is out are losing their way by taking risks and losing their wickets.

There is definitely a huge gulf between their test cricket and twenty20

It seems like they don't have any power player who can butcher the attack. Gibbs is more of a miss than hit these days.

Hopes, Hussey, Hilfenhaus - all wickets by the H's so far.

Hopes to Boucher, OUT, swipes across the line, loses sight and sends a top edge to Tait at backward point
MV Boucher c Tait b Hopes 19 (19b 1x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

Hashim amla should bowl today ! :moyo

103/4 in 15 overs. Duminy on the verge of another half century. 41 (28) now.

Tait is definitely expensive most of the times, but he only makes up for it by taking wickets. He needs more experience under his belt. He is very inconsistent with his pace. His first spell is perhaps when he is at his most dangerous, needs to work on his strength, stamina. He cannot be inconsistent with his speed.

Hey he has played 2 games in a row!

Makes :akhtar look fit this bloke
Pointing's words for Tait, "He is built like Tarzan, plays like Jane" :)))

Morkel gone. Bracken into the attack and does the job immeidately.

Bracken to JA Morkel, OUT, swung down to long -on! Bracken strikes first ball, pitching it just outside off stump, Morkel connects well with the big swipe but David Hussey runs across and from long-off and takes the ball to his right, very well held, even as the other fielder converged from the other side
JA Morkel c DJ Hussey b Bracken 19 (13b 1x4 1x6) SR: 146.15

Yup he is actually not fit at all. He is stuffed after 1 over at the moment, and really hasn't played much cricket this summer.

But the problem is he has no in between at all, it is either gun bowling or total rubbish. Illustrated perfectly by the India A games, he took 0/80 or something first game with 15 wides, 2nd game he took 3 wickets in the first 2 overs. And then bowled more rubbish for the rest of the game.

I see the Aussies finishing this game off in about 12-15 overs max.

J-P D looks like a real talent. Has plenty of flair as well as class.

South Africans have given themselves a slight chance here thanks to some really intelligent innings by Duminy.

They will come out on a high and if they can keep the balls in the right areas first up, mainly up instead of trying to bowl short, then I think they can definitely make something happen here.

Some guy called MArsh gets things going

SIX

9-0 off 2 overs

Tony Grieg back to his senile old self.

Terrible commentator

What was all the fuss about?

Warner OUT - Bowled

Duminy once again has shown his ever growing potential as a player.

How is Parnell bowling? Is he any good?

Very decent young allrounder. U/19 captain at last years junior world cup. Performed extremely well in that tourny!!

Looks great for the future!!!

Yep has potential. Good pace, nice action.

Saffers have a fast bowler building program these days.

Morkel, Steyn, Tsotsobe, Parnell all very young.

Tricky Ricky is run out!

Top bit of fielding by the bowler Morker

90-3

Oh my word!!!

What an amazing catch by Duminy!

Hussey goes

92-4

How the hell did he catch that!

Class, talent, youthful exhuberance, determination. What a fantastic catch!

Parnell got hit for 19 off his last over, inc 4 concecutive fours by White, game over!

Aus keeping up their 100% T20 home record.

Intresting to see how ODI series goes.
