If India wins today, i will have to agree that SA is best ODI team in the world right now
WHats ur predictions for today match?
will tendulkar make another century?
India won against Aussies in 84 final after that it took them 14 years to win in 98
since then they haven't won any final against aussies

i just don't see Australia loosing 2 in a row. sorry mate, Australia to win.

You mean losing 3 in a row. They have already lost 2 in a row.

if India win, Australian media will eat/crush/bash/slice the Australia cricket team. bet pontnig is feeling the pressure

No way.
The aussie media will back Ponting and his men.
the aussie media will find more ways of running down the indian team/BCCI/IPL and will attribute the loss to the controversies 'created by' indian players/captain/bcci.

The aussie media will be very understanding of the innocent aussie players and expose the evil indian team for what they are.

what kind of idiot are you? even though Aussie media is anti-Indian, it not as stupid to blame the loss of a series due to the reasons you have given. it will still heavily criticize the Australian team

India's biggest ODI game since the World cup. The pressure is truly on; how will they respond?

by the way, from the indian team which lost the 2003 world cup final to Australia, very few are playing in the current series' finals.

Sachin, Yuvraj, Harbhajan, Sehwag may be the only players in the current team who lost that final.

Dhoni,
Gambhir,
Robin Uthappa
Rohit Sharma
Pathan
Sreesanth
Ishant
Chawla
Praveen kumar
Munaf
Manoj Tewary
Suresh Raina

have all made their entry in the team after that loss.
they dont have any psychological scars inflicted by Ponting & Co.

Most of them are the new generation players who are confident.may be that helps.

LOL, quite right.

My predictions for today is India winning, but not so easily as last time. If this had been the old timers and the old way of playing, I would have said 100% Aus winning. But Dhoni just keeps going from strength to strength, and his team responds. These guys also understand the vital point that after one win you do not relax or get complacent. Previously they just never seemed to learn from their mistakes, but watch for it, tonight you will see them make an extra effort to field better and run better, 2 things which were badly done.

One last big effort is needed and then it's all glory, glory, glory.

Only question is, should Dhoni field or bat if he wins the toss? It's a different pitch tonight.

I've got a feeling it'll be a one-sided affair tonight. Australia to take it to a third!

wont an indian win make india a collective number 1 with australia?

ideally: a tie here with tendulkar scoring a big hundred while india chase dont a 350 score... and a thrilling finish to the next game, again india chasing a 300-350 score with either tendulkar or gambhir scoring a big one.

Two of my least favorite teams. Quite hard to decide who to root for,

One thing is for sure...Aussies will come after India with everything they have

I wish it is an Indian win with Harbhajan winning MOM but the track may not be to his liking.

Harbhy scoring a 50.. including a 25 runs in one over of Symonds. He also gets dropped by Hayden. Hayden and Symo gets out in successive balls to Harbhajan. That would be near perfect result for Harby :p

Brisbane ground history?
- known to assist pacers with new ball.
- Not much of spin

so chawla out, munaf/sreesanth in. I would still rpefer sreesanth ahead of munaf.

It is important we score more runs than Australia to win the game
Scoring more runs than AUS will not guarntee a win.
Remember the last 2 games at the Gaba were rained out so in case of another heavy shower the D/L method might come in to play.

Is this PP or is this IC*; 44 posts already when there are still 3 hours till the game starts!

Salaay Mainkees :p

ICF is apparently mighty quiet these days Monsee. :))

India win the toss and will bat. Ishant out with injury

Leg spinners tend to do well at the Gabba - would be leaving Chawla in if I was India. More value for the future than Munaf (whatever) Patel.

Sreesanth is a good bowler but seems to have no answer when the batsman attack him.

Sreesanth instead of sharma. Chawla stays too

Okay.. Aussies are already in driver seat now that Sreesanth is included.

Dhoni appeared to be quite disappointed to miss Ishant. And rightly so. Sreesanth is a bit of a lottery - if he comes good , he usually takes 2-3 wickets, but more often than not, he goes for plenty..

Sreesanth should do well today. Bowling still does not look too bad. we need 300+ and ofcourse some luck to get hayden out for a chance to win.

A big BOLD decision by MSD:

1) He has gone with 2 spinners
2) Still backing on Yuvi to click - I was hoping VS will get a chance

Quiet but steady start by India so far.

Ball is swinging around a bit. the pitch looks quite dry.

Uthappa can be a deadly weapon if he lasts for a while. As T20 teams found out.

Uthappa usually errs with his shot selection. A bit of selectiveness and cool head will help him a lot.

I have a feeling that Uthappa is going to explode very soon - and perhaps get out in the process...

Run rate is picking up now. Tendulkar opening up with a few boundaries..

Tendulkar has raced to 40 - and looks in good nick. Uthappa has been watching the show from the other side for the last 2-3 overs.

india looks set for 270+ provided the middle order holds. looks to be a promising game.

India 81/0 (17.5 ov)
*SR Tendulkar (rhb) 48
RV Uthappa (rhb) 26

Four fast bowlers? :(

Johnson has been bowling really badly, and Clark hasnt been impressive as well. Problems for Ponting I would say..

A wicket out of the blue.. Uthappa gives a leading edge for a soft dismissal.

Gambhir comes in.

are Aussies playing with 12 men on field.. there were 2 men at thirdman for SRT :))

that was funny

Taylor: Are you suggesting Opening batsman cant play spinners
Chappell: Openers are just there to dibly dobly , take the shine of the new ball for the real players to come and make hey
Taylor: I thought thoese guys were just opening batsman with bad technique, thats why called middle order batsman

:27:

damn.. Clarke just tackled Tendu…
That is new, even by the Aussie book - fall on someone to stop him from taking a run!

Aussies will have to dig deep into their batting pockets to pull this out. Ishant's absence will help them.

Gambhir throws his wicket away - attempts a six and caught at long on...
