Pretty historic considering that this could be the future of Test cricket

Congrats to Azhar Ali for his century.

Am I the only one who thinks the pink ball is easier to see for the batsman therefore another blow for the bowlers.

Azor Ahai

The hero we need. Batsman to watch out for in Aussie land. Not old timers Misbah or Yoni but the prophecized one himself :azhar.

Well done. Azhar should get 20 plus test match centuries as I mentioned on the match thread.

Good knock from Ali.

He is one of the best 2nd grade Test batsmen in the world without a shadow of a doubt.

The wicket did not befit a D/N game and the bowling was anything but challenging but still, this is a good achievement to have under his belt and this series against the West Indies is to build up an air of dominance within a team and use that to beat New Zealand and maybe even Australia.

This is his time to cash in. He had a good tour of the UK finding it difficult/having some bad luck early on but coming back very strongly to average 40+. Now he needs to use this opportunity to score tons of runs, that is where he has let up sometimes I feel. When Azhar plays against weaker opposition, or less meaningful matches, he throws his wicket away due to lack of concentration in the 70s or 80s. He needs to score 400+ runs this series.

Well done Azhar, something no one can ever take away from him. Historical moment.

Congrats to Azhar, he's shaping up to become a fantastic Test opener

Azhar should be eyeing for a double here. Need to go through initial overs.

Good achievement but not sure how these type of tests are future.

How's it different? Just day and night will just slow the death of test cricket. It won't change the fate. You are putting band aid on a person who is severly bleeding.

Severely bleeding? I dont think so! The recent test at Indore proved that if you have good sporting wickets you will get good crowds into the games. They need to be organised well, like on holidays/ around holidays. The crowds in Indore would be full houses everyday in England. Recent Pakistan- England series saw full houses on most days too. Test cricket is not dying.

IMO you are partially right,Indore doesn't get IPL matches(except twice) and they have been cricket starved so hosting a test match in tier 2 cities work.

Also having players that can pull a crowd has its advantages as well,Kohli in this case.

Agreed. This was a poor test match pitch. Extremely flat and while I'm happy that Azhar got the runs, these sort of pitches should not be seen again in the UAE.

The pitches for our home series against England back in 2012 were absolutely amazing. Good pacers, batsmen and spinners all thrived and the poor players (Taufeeq, Morgan, Bell, Cheema) were found out.

Fantastic achievement by Azhar Ali to become the first-ever batsman to score a triple-century in day/night Tests

His innings of 302* against Windies in Dubai also took him past 4000 runs in the format, and was the fourth time a Pakistan player had passed the 300-mark
