Talking a lot of sense in the studio. Honest, critical and well reasoned, and most certainly didn't pull any punches when it came to LQ's repeated failures.

Good sign for the future...

This is what he will be doing. He on merit has played his last game for Pakistan

Thats wht he should see his future now, Hope he retires and we do not see him in future.

Hope he comes back to form and becomes captain. Should have been Test captain instead of ODI - complete mismatch.

Should open the batting as well.

Easier to talk, difficult to practice. Take Azhar Ali's analysis with a pinch of salt

I hope the same. He is the most deserving to be test captain and least deserved to be in the ODI team.

PCB is capable of doing miracles that’s why did the complete opposite of reality shud be.

He needs to be punished for his recent form and for his form in South Africa. I swear to god i will bring it up if everyone else including the PCB forgets by the time of Pakistan's next test assignment in August 2019. Enough of the likes of Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq getting away with poor form because of the long gap between Pakistan's test matches

Which program is Azhar Ali appearing on?

Thanks

Hmm

Always looked clueless and out of ideas whenever i saw him captaining be it National team or domestic. May be have good game sense but not quick enough to analyse the game on run time.

No wonder you're a Shinwari fan. :)))

He's one of our best Test bats.

We saw his true class on the SA tour. Just look at his record since the retirement of Younis and Misbah. There is nothing more he can give. He needs to be dropped

He was also an analyst on Ten Sports before, during the 2016 T20 World Cup, I think.

Back then he wasn't too great but decent, compared to other Pakistani analysts.

He was one of our best test bats but he's in decline now. I would like to see him replace Ramiz Raja in the comm. box.

Yes, no denying that he's not even 50% of his old self now.

But may bounce back.

I liked how he pretty much said Kamran Akmal was not good enough to be a 2nd wicket keeper in the national side.

I am not a professional cricketer, if we just rate people for their analysis then Aqib Javed and Hafeez would be the greatest cricketers ever.

lol you have some weird logic mate. No ones rating Azhar Ali the cricketer based on how good he is as an analyst. The two things can and should be judged separately.

Players who have limited skill set have to work harder and usually have to learn more about the game. A pundit role once he has retired could suit him nicely.

He speaks good english but then so do others - for the moment, just basic analysis and obvious stuff - a little hesitant to speak his mind perhaps due to being a current PCB player?

i) it's good to see someone of his generation getting into punditry, not least because Azhar (and his contemporaries) will know the ins and outs of domestic cricket better than the usual suspects who are invited on to these shows.

ii) Azhar is able to talk about current domestic players (similar to how Bazid Khan is able to) and as such is able to give more info/background.

iii) Unlike others, he is at least providing some basic analysis when he is asked questions rather than spouting a series of words and hope they make sense (*cough* Aamer Sohail! *cough*)

A case in point is when he was asked about Ahsan Ali. Azhar said when/if players who show such temperement aren't developed that is a failing of the domestic system. Sounds basic/obvious but how many others have mentioned domestic cricket and its issues in the show? Answer: none. Azhar is able to provide a fresh perspective/help make the discussion an informed one.

How can someone who was not a good T-20/ODI player be equipped to provide T-20/ODI analysis.

I would say the same if Afridi was providing analysis for a test match

Generally views about cricket are given by international cricketers.

By that token, what is Aamir Sohail doing in that panel?

If we go by this thinking then every individual including you and me should discussing about the game of cricket as were are not international players

Shaun Tait should not utter a single word about batting.
The host should not challenge anything that is said by the analysts (the cricketers).
We should quit this forum and do something that we are good at.

Problems for me: I am just good at killing time. Will need to go to YouTube for that.

Azhar is very good and talks a lot of sense, but he's a bit slow tho, takes many pauses in between but he's best amongst the three.

Aamir is clueless with his fake accent, last night in post game show he said Pollard was beaten by Wahab Riaz bouncer in last QG v PZ game, lol.

Aamir Sohail was a good ODI player of his time. Azhar Ali wasn't. Big Difference, plus Sohail is not politically correct, he says it as he sees it
