Great news. Here's hoping the rumours about Fakhar also joining are true.

Well this is great news for Babar Azam. It will be a great opportunity for him to develop his skills in the CPL and gain some experience from the other players.

Good......
interesting to see how winning a major trophy can change perception of people towards u.

Looks like cpl will have many views in Pakistan. Fantastic to see babar and co getting an opportunity to be a part of a great league.

This is great news, now if Fakhar Zaman also gets picked.

This is what happens when a team wins a global tournament, the world sits up and watches. Congratulations to all these guys. Will definitely be following the CPL more than I have previously.

YES!!! Was only a matter of time for Babar to get selected really I mean the phainty he has given the WI, he was bound to get noticed for CPL. Now lets hope Fakhar can land a contract somewhere.

I would be surprised if no one selects him, with so many leagues going around surely after those amazing CT knocks he shouldn't have many troubles landing a contract in one of the leagues.

I am actually excited to watch the CPL this year so many Pakistani's!

Starting on August 4th I think.

Agreed, will be the first time I actually watch more than a few overs here and there. Excited!

Only hoping the rumours of Fakhar Zaman getting signed, on come true.

Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz - Barbados Tridents
Imad Wasim, Mohammad Sami - Jamaica Tallawahs
Shadab Khan - Trinbago Knight Riders
Kamran Akmal - St. Lucia Stars
Mohammad Hafeez, Hasan Ali - St Kitts & Nevis

List provided by Abdullah719

That's 10 players. With rumours flying around that Fakhar Zaman might also be signed by a team.

I don't understand the hate Sami gets. At 36/37, the guys STILL bowls express, tight lines and has been beyond phenomenal in both seasons of the PSL and even the BPL. As for Wahab, he's still a good Twenty20 bowler. Was pretty good in this year's PSL. Since he only has to bowl 4 odd overs, he seriously cranks it up and therefore, he's a threat.

Shocked at Lala, Amir and Junaid not being there. Is it because of a timing clash with the NatWest Twenty20 blast?
They certainly deserve to be there.

So this is what happens when you win an ICC tournament. From our playing 11 in final, only Azhar has not been able to make a contract. Rest of our 10 players will be playing for different leagues in next month.

Fakhar - CPL
Babar - CPL
Malik - CPL
Hafeez - CPL
Sarfraz - Natwest T20 Blast
Imad - CPL
Shadab - CPL
Amir - Natwest T20 Blast
Hasan - CPL
Junaid - Natwest T20 Blast

Amir picked county as he will get to play FC

Other 2 dunno

Hopefully he does well

Bats for the team and not his average

Should be an opener in the T20 format

You are spot on. We had become a rubbish white ball team before CT win, didn't have much of our players playing T20 blast last year and it's been ages since we had a Pakistani even play Big Bash League. Now most of the CT winning squad have all got deals. Can guarantee would not be the case if Pakistan done rubbish in CT, Imad wouldn't have been targeted by Durham or Sarfraz by Yorkshire. However, am not sure Fakhar Zaman has got a CPL deal

Sami is effective in such tournaments- just don't pick him for the national team!

Amir is staying with Essex until September I think (he is playing all formats).

Good post- although you may have jumped the gun with Fakhar.

Read in a reliable newspaper that Fakhar has also got NOC for CPL.

How many overseas players per eleven?
What r the chances the late additions walk straight into the side?

Hopefully he can find some success batting with an aggressive mindset in order to gain confidence in his attacking abilities.

thanks!

WHat is Sohail Tanvir still doing there lol

WHat is Sohail Tanvir still doing there lol

no apparently he is king of the pyjama leagues like azhar mahmood used to be

i think he is in the highest category with likes of mccullum, gayle, and with steyn, AB last year

Four overseas players per eleven is generally the norm. Should be the same for CPL.

If they're good enough and reach on time, I don't see why not.

I meant from the point of view that if u r not originally selected , there is probably more chance u start as a squad player. Otherwise u would have been picked.
Hopefully I'm wrong and CT changes this

I have looked at the squads of CPL sides and looks like almost all of the pakistani players are going to going to make the playing 11 for their respective sides.

Guyana will be playing four matches at home in Providence.

Guyana usually has the slowest and most spin-friendly wickets in the Caribbean so will be a test of Babar's spin playing abilities.
