Sheikh,

Whats the situation with Shoaib?
Don't know mate, got into work a little while ago and had a glance at the score. Commentator mentioned Tanvir picking up 2 of the 3 wickets.

Will inform you when I know more.

Impressed with Jnr Bhanjay ki batting? :jm
Can't say as I haven't really been watching.

Little stutter from Balochistan and they're now 196-6 after 40.2.

Had a glimpse of Akhtar; he still looks a ''little'' hefty and is sporting a beard. Will try to catch a bit of the closing stages as he should be having a bowl then.

i think he lost alot of weight before he was really fat like a phalwan and as concern to his beard i think he is going to become like :moyo

Akhtar bowled the 45th over of the innings. He came off his full run up and bowled with decent pace (around 140), despite huffing and puffing a bit.

The two batsmen (one of them was Kamran Hussain) took a liking to him though and plundered 19 runs off his over. It went something like this: 4 2 1 4 4 4.

Shoaib did take 2 wickets earlier on, one off a short ball caught at square leg and the other off a good length delivery guided to the keeper.

Balochistan are 242-7 after 45.5.

Thanks mann also can you please tell final score too. Also is shoaib doing good? i mean by fitness level?

47th over was a much better one from Shoaib. He bowled some fast short balls and the odd slower ball. 5 runs came off the over. He's really huffing though.

Oh and his beard is Inzi-esque, white hairs and all.

256-7 after 47.3.

I believe it is because he is captain

Kamran Hussain has reached his 50 off 29 balls..

he is doing pretty good in the tournament i remember last match he was unbeaten at 45

Shoaib picks up a wicket, short ball smacked straight to cover. He has 3 now.

And he picks up his 4th, unplayable inswinging yorker to the tail-ender, cleaning him up. Good comeback from Shoaib. Good pace off a full run-up, despite the fact that he looks exhausted.

Balochistan are 271-9 with an over to go.

Tanvir picks up the last one and Balochistan finish with 275 all out.

Misbah made 63 off 64 and Kamran Hussain 56 off 34. Fahad Iqbal also made a 60 odd.

Shoaib bowled 10 overs with figures of 4-57 (that one over which went for 19 spoiled his figures a bit) and Tanvir finished with 3-57 off 9.3.

The constrictor did what he does best: 1-30 off 10.

Should be a good chase.

Sheikh,

Do you think Shoaib can last a test match?
At this moment, probably not. Don't see him being able to bowl more than 10-12 overs in a day. And even if he were included, we'd be running a risk at the very real possibility of him picking up an injury along the way.

Extra weight aside, he just seems short on stamina and every over looks a struggle. Mind you this is in the winter; bowling in heat will be that much more draining.

Inevitably it's up to him; if he's willing to work on his fitness and stamina he'll find a way back. The speed and skill has always been there and is still there. It's about how much he wants it.

thats unfortunate because i keep hearing that he has been working really hard in the last 2 months or so.

The chase has begun and 2 wickets have fallen in Rauf's last over. First to a run-out, second caught behind. Tanvir has come in at number 3. Misbah has 3 slips and a gully for Rauf.

9-2 after 3.

Beautiful cover drive by Tanvir off Kamran Hussain. Got to the pitch of the ball and played it with a straight bat.

Kamran Hussain can make a decent ODI all rounder. His batting didnt look too shabby in the ODIs when I saw him and its good to see him make some runs. We should give him a chance since we really could use a pace all rounder.

and nice attacking mindset from Misbah....why cant we make him captain?

Another one goes, this time Tanvir. F.A are 25-3 after 7 and staring down the barrel.

Funny how a couple additions can change a team. Last year the Balochi's were absolutely horrid but add some star power and they done quite decently. Made the finals of the longer format and now dominating FA after being a strong Sindh team.

I wish Geo starts net-streaming of Geo Super. I would love to pay for that sort of thing.

And Sri Lanka are willing to tour Pakistan if India fail to come. I think we should stop running after India with a bowl in our hand, as Ramiz Raja rightly wrote some days ago. I feel Sri Lanka is a tougher team to beat in tests than India. Just imagine if England had a spinner of Murali`s or Menidis` calibre, India could never in world have won that match.

He's a midget though. Same sort of issue with Yasir Arafat. Quickies generally have to be tall (there are exceptions), I'd rather have Rao :rao in the side.

No. Razzaq wasn't tall yet people are havign a orgasm about him coming back. Kamran is a decent bat and seems like he can bat fast....and bat defensively if we collapse (which we tend to do alot)....so a perfect lower order bat. His bowling is an added bonus and gives us that fourth pacer option like the old days. He can swing the ball plus adds some variety into the attack.

A good bowling attack has variety and balance.

I've read in another thread he's mid 120s. Not international standard. With that sort of methodology, you could choose someone like Azhar Mahmood to come back to the Pakistani team, even though now he's a mediocre bowler. I'd rather keep Alam down the order, occasional bowler and moderately consistent sort of batsman.

Umar Amin and Afaq Raheem are at the crease and it's pretty much my first look at both of them.

Amin has a good technique and seems a confident fellow as he's smacked a cover drive and pull off Kamran Hussain, both perfectly timed. He's moved onto a run a ball 20-odd.

Afaq looks a compact bat and whilst he was beaten a few times early by Rauf, wafting at outswingers outside off, he seems to have settled, taking 7 runs off Rauf's last over.

60-3 after 13.

the Umar Amin chap looks really good.

Just got a 50 of 49 balls. Looks very very solid. Most impressive batsman of the tournamnet so far for me.

Afaq Raheem hardly has backlift. Umar Amin plays very correct in the "V"

Also I think we must give props to GEO for excellent coverage and some decent commentary

Two thing they need from next year
1. Speed Gun
2. Show the scorecard more often. Right now they only show it at the end of the innings

asifp, it is your duty next time Sindh play to record the match and put it up on PP, regardless of WHATEVER happens :afridi
I heard Umar Amin was good, how old is the guy?

HAHHAH, to seeing Danish Kaneria running after the ball.

The ground is not in the best shape, not the best place to dive.

Yaar I was going to go to NSK when Sind was playing next time, but I have to go to Lahore for a wedding. THese damn weddings yaar in decemeber.

The weather is great in Karachi as well. Would have gone there with a Laptop and an Ipod, chilled all day and watched the game.

Ah well.

Kaneria changing ends, has bowled poorly so far

Not an ODI bowler man. He has too much variation and flight. If he doesnt flight it, he doesnt get wickets, so he's kinda bad.

Shoaib Akhtar looks like a cow. It was so nostalgic to see the highlights of the 1999 world cup yesterday. Slim and fit Akhtar. He needs to get away from that Tauseef Riaz.

26 overs, 154-3

Misbah needs to bring in Rauf here, try and get a wicket.

These guys are coasting easily against the second line bowlers.

Chasing 276

28 overs, 163-3

They came in when the score was 20 odd for 3 in 7 overs.

Lol pwnage. Go Federal Areas.

Umar Amin looks equally comfortable against the spinners as he does against the quicker bowlers. Seems to have a lot of time on his hands.

200-4 in 33.4 overs.

Poor captaincy from Misbah sticking with part timers while these guys are running away with the match.

Is Amin still out there in the centre?

Agreed. Technically is very correct. So was Taufeeq Umar, but unlike Taufeeq he does not shuffle across the stumps.

He should be as part of the Pakistan setup.

As i speak Afaq Raheem pulls one for four

35 overs, 209/3

Afaq Raheem cutting loose, another four.

And the camera pans towards Akhtar, and you just cant help but say it every time

"He is FAT"

the commentators agree with me, Misbah missing a trick by not bowling Rauf or Kamran Hussain

36 overs , 215-3

Umar Amin on 99.

Kaneria has changed his action slightly.

Question, is Kamran Hussain taller than Yasir Arafat or a midget?

Has Akhtar not lost any weight at all? Or is he on the good path? :akhtar

There is no way he has lost any weight. He might hit the gym in all his time off, but there is no way he is doing any cardio.

he might have strength but no endurance

lovely push off the back foot, Yuvraj style by Umar Ameen

103*

lovely knock

What a partnership this has been, in excess of 200 now with both lads getting 100's. Great stuff, hope the selectors are taking note.

Umar Amin as the future number 3?

Yeah. Well he has opened in the past as well.

I cant see him replacing, YK, Mibsah and Malik anytime soon.

As mentioned, future number 3. He's only 19 right now so I'm talking further down the line, perhaps when Misbah hangs up his boots. Then YK could move down to the number 4 spot.

As an opener he'll have to compete with the likes of Butt, Jamshed, Manzoor, and Azhar Ali.

Well Butt only scores against India nad Jamshed has yet to prove himself against good teams, so you never know.
