A fine ODI bowler. Numbers don't do justice. 32.66 Avg and 34.9 SR. 62 matches 81 wickets. Econ 5.61. Can bowl pacey yorkers. Best figures 6/26 against NZ. 4 wicket haul 6 times.

Cons can't bowl the slower ball yet. For limited over matches that is absolutely necessary. That is why the econ is so high.

He was the hero of WC for us. Taking out Broad and Anderson's stump.

Mash hands down. Because he is experienced. Mash was a tearway bowler when he first came to the scene. We had nothing. The captains rode him hard in test. No proper coaching. Plus he (Mash) was reckless as well. No diet plan of any sort. No workouts. This is like when he was 19-20. After 9 operations and rehab, he is still playing that is a miracle in itself. Bond quit after 1st rehab.

I like Ishant Sharma. His attitude. How many players would jump on a fire pit for his captain? You can't buy loyalty. I wish and hope Rubel has that quality.

Rubel is the best ODI pacer for Bangladesh right now. Taskin and Mustafizur have the potential to be better. Mashrafe is a liability these days but team plays well under him.

Rubel Hossain has surgery after breaking jaw on door

Dhaka - Bangladeshi fast bowler Rubel Hossain has been ruled out of competition for at least a month after colliding with a door and breaking his jaw while on tour in England, his doctor said on Wednesday.

The mishap occurred in the Bangladesh team hotel in Birmingham on June 15 after the semi-final loss to India in the Champions Trophy.

Bangladesh Cricket Board physician Monirul Amin said Rubel underwent surgery on Wednesday and would need four to six weeks off to recover.

"We hope he will be fine after that period, and make himself available for selection for the Australia series," Amin said, referring to the first of two Tests starting late August.

Rubel featured in all four of Bangladesh's Champions Trophy matches but claimed just two wickets at an average of 95.50.

Bangladesh progressed to the semi-final of the 50-over tournament for the first time in their history, but were crushed by India in a nine-wicket thumping.

As a pacer,he is pretty average or even below average sometimes.I don't rate him much as a pacer.If Bangladesh wants to progress more they need to find better pacer.

He was having a physical relationship with her in pretext of a marriage which he didn't honor. He was in police custody for three days but later the court granted him bail to participate for the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

On Bangladesh's victory over England, in which Hossain played a starring role, Nazneen withdrew the charges. Because of Rubel's performance against England, Happy's lawyer, Debul Day, ended his participation in the case saying "I no longer wish to fight against Rubel after seeing Bangladesh succeed. Rubel should feel no pressure.

Yeah, i recall this . But i think their rivalry was older than this, i think from their U-19 days.
Anyways, i felt he had a good runup, a whippy action - an aggresive paceman attitude...& Good pace as well.
At one point i felt BD had a good attack with him, Mash, Taskin, shahadt , shakib etc...
I guess got injured a lot & also other off field disciplinary issues meant he probably underachieved.
Good luck to him in his retirement.
