I love Abbas and what he is doing but PPers are forgetting Junaid's impact in these dead tracks. He bowled to better batsmen like Sangakkara and still took wickets. We should not forget him and honestly I was surprised to see amir playing in these dead tracks ahead of Junaid, who has a knack for taking wickets.

Junaid had 30 wickets in 9 tests in the UAE at 32 avg

Very respectable, but no where near as impactful as Abbas

well he bowled to better batsman, not discrediting abbas but he only played against west indies and a weak Australia.

His overall record is decent in the UAE, averages 32 but before injury he was very good in these conditions for a few years. His stats for 2012 and 2013 are very good.

Junaid's sample size is small.

Besides it was before he started having knee issues, when his pace used to touch 140s and he was good with the old ball at seaming it.

Mostly got lucky, but he's almost finished now, esp. for UAE tracks.

After spot-fixing scandal we are struggling to field two good bowlers in Test matches.

Abbas is very good but he needs a partner. Either Hasan Ali or Junaid Khan should have been given a chance here.

Didn't look very finished to me when he ripped through BD while poster boys Amir, Hasan and Shinwari were looking like gully mohallah level bowlers throughout the tournament.

People need to get rid of their biases to be taken seriously. Who am I kidding until a couple of months ago you were seriously harping about for the selection of the Akmals for their "explosive" batting.

Shinwari is the same level as Junaid, not sure when did he become a poster boy.

Amir and Hasan are a league above, obviously. Isolated matches are not looked at when talking about a bowler's class.

Plus, I respect your opinion. You've had JK's dp since forever, so I don't expect you to ever change your mind. :najam
