We are winning the 2018 world cup Inshallah !!!!!
Very good team indeed. But, to win a WC, one needs luck as well. There are few other very good sides - France, Germany, Spain, Brazil... Belgium will face one of them at QF most likely - and these teams have big KO match experience; any team'll need a bit of luck from KO stages. I can recall 1998 - Roberto Baggio's stunning volley did beat GK, but it rebounded from the inner side of the bar at around 115th minute - France went on to win in tie breaker & rest is history.
Besides, team has to be in prime physical condition & mentally hungry. Another classic example in WC 2002. France had -
1. No. Team in world, who didn't lose a game since 1996 (defending world & euro champs)
2. They had top scores of 4 leagues - Henry, Trezeguet & Cisse
3. They had season player of the year in EPL, France, Spain & Germany (Sagnol, bundesliga defender of the year)
4. They had PFA player of the year - Robert Pires
5. They had La Liga & CL player of the year - Zizu
6. They had 4 or 5 playea in 2001-02 team of the year
7. They had world player of the year & ballon de oorr runners up
8. They won the last 2 confederations cup, last one in Japan-Korea
....
But, that French team was hell tiered - their almost entire team came from MU, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real, Bayern, Juve, Lyon & Barca - teams that were active till late May. That was one of the all time best football teams ever.
By the time France reached Japan; player were exhausted, extremely stressed & full (French players swept club competitions that year across Europe). Pieces & Makelele got injured, Henry got sent off in first match - France left the Japan with 1 point, 4th in Group & without any goal to their credit.
It's all about building your momentum till end & finding touch at right time - only few teams can do that & that's why we have only 8 Champs in 90 years; talent only doesn't win it. The Germans, Italians, Brazilians know how to raise their game on crunch moments. Argues, Dutch, Belige, Spanish or French can't match them; otherwise only talent isn't a big deal.
