Haider Ali looks so much more comfortable and at ease when he is given the license to attack from ball one on every delivery and not put under pressure to build an innings and think so much about his batting. Even today, the moment Malik told him to calm down and make sure he remains not out at the end, he got out a few deliveries later edging to the keeper trying to run the ball to third man.

I think players like Haider Ali and Asif Ali are just best utilized when given the license to go after the balling from ball one, to play their natural games without any fear. The moment you over complicate things for them with the bat by asking them to curtail their natural games is when they get confused with their approach.

Asif Ali is not needed.

Haider at 5 would work perfectly for T20 WC, but for his development, he needs to bat in top 4

For T20 WC:

Sharjeel/Fakhar
Rizwan
Babar
Hafeez
Haider
Imad
Faheem
Usman Qadir
Hasan
Shaheen
Hasnain/Rauf/3rd spinner

Best way to utilise them is to make them compete for one or two spots as you can’t have and don’t need too many sloggers. The white ball squad is shaping up very well. I think it’s a matter of time till we see both safraz and rizwan in the team. Remember rizwan is a hun fielder too so that’s going to give us a boost in the wct20. I won’t write Wahab or Amir off yet and malik can always squeeze in. At the end we will take both Qadir and Shadab to the World Cup with Imad the only other spin option. Don’t see Nawaz making the cut as Imad’s lobby is too strong but one good thing is that due to the flat decks we are seeing some decent performance by the batsmen.

For the World Cup I’d go for this squad as of yet on current form

1 Hafeez
2 Sharjeel
3 Rizwan
4 Babar
5 Malik
6 Haider
7 Shadab
8 Wahab
9 Imad
10 Hassan
11 Shaheen

12 Rauf
13 Maqsood
14 Qadir
15 Faheem
16 Sarfraz

Reserve

Fakhar, Asif Ali, Azam Khan

If you want to utilize Haider best is to make him open, and take the chance, he may clobber 20 - 30 quick runs or be out for the one-digit score.
If you have depth in batting, you can take that chance. Its a gamble , he may play sweet little cameos 2 times in every 5 innings , and give you off to a good start.

Wrong, he's better vs spin than pace.

Haider Ali as Pakistan's long term limited overs opener. Asif Ali as drinks carrier

I think this is the best team we can put out for the T20 world cup. It would be great if we can have an off spinner as the 3rd spinner, it would give some amazing bowling depth to the side. Maybe if Shadab can show some skills, he can be the third spinner and the lower order batter to strengthen this team.

Best way to utilise them would be to dump them into domestic cricket and only give another chance if they have scored tons of runs.

Glad now people are realizing Haider fits better in the middle order than as an opener.

I would love to have him at 4 or 5 in ODIs though. Rizwan can bat at 4 or open in the ODIs as well as we don't really have many good openers.

Been saying from the start hes more suited to the middle overs because of how strong he is vs spin. But there has to be a balance, don't think he should be batting too low. No 4 is probably his best spot.

No 4 or 5, both spots aren't much different either esp in ODIs. Morgan enjoys batting at either numbers.
Should start him with no.5 in ODIs and once he becomes more confident and apt in constructing long innings, could be promoted to no. 4. Haris Sohail would be a good no.4 till then considering Rizwan might start opening now.

People saying he should be a middle order batsman in Limited Overs are being shortsighted and basing too much on the fact that hes been destructive in the middle order in the PSL and has not impressed much so far in the top order in International cricket. He's too good to not open and will not take long to get used to that position if given more chances.

Best way to utilise Asif Ali is to make him the waterboy.

Haider at 5 is better, Also these situation where he is with experience Malik will help him to finish games.

He need to give more value to his wicket and make bowlers earn it. Be smart in which bowler & which bowl to attack.

I am hopeful more he play more he gets better.
