Big slap on the face of Narendra Modi and co from one of India's politically most important states.

Whether it is beef politics, intolerance or simply not keeping the promise of development, Narendra Modi is facing the heat. First in Delhi and now Bihar.


NaMo and gang should pull their socks up and bring the RSS , Shiv Sena and other goons under control if they don't want to be made irrelevant in the next election.
 
Its got to do with the JDU RJD alliance. Votes that were getting split have now consolidated . I don't think BJP's voteshare has gone down much.
 
BJP's vote share has only gone down by 3 percent, dont think thats a huge slap...
 
People voted for him in the name of development. Till now he has proved to be all talk and no substance. First in Delhi and now in Bihar rather than speaking about the strategy of growth he attacked opposition party leaders.

People are not fool Mr prime minister. Wake up and smell the coffee.
 
This was the toughest election for BJP.Most of us expected a defeat.But this means Lalu Yadav will be ruling bihar come the 2019 LS elections.That means there will be a likely huge anti incumbency and the so called Nitish is a good administrator image will be tarnished.This defeat may ultimately do BJP more good than harm.

But i fear for Bihar with Lalu back,the anarchy will be back.

Unless they do something drastically bad they will.The Bihar elections cannot be compared to the LS elections.Because in 2019 many things will change as i said above.Also lets see how long Nitish and Lalu stick together,because Lalu will want control over the govt and Nitish has too big an ego.If Nitish heads back to the NDA,i wont be surprised.

Also in most other states its a direct fight between BJP and Congress.You believe congress will be winning there?

The only trouble BJP will face if SP/BSP/Congress all come together for the UP polls,and that is extremely unlikely.

Its the parties that decide the elections.Do you think people in Bihar love Lalu Yadav?Or do you think he has become the largest party because Nitish teamed up with him?

No the popularity isnt decreasing rapidly.As someone pointed out the BJP only lost 2.5% of its votes in Bihar.

I am rather surprised that Lalu has won more seats than Nitish, even though the results are still coming in. I wonder what would have happened if Nitish had stuck with the NDA. Would Lalu have had done even better?
 
On a personal opinion Nitish -BJP alliance has done very well for Bihar so i would had preferred them with JDU keeping an eye on BJP and BJP keeping constraint on terrible socialist policies of JDU but now its going to be bad.
However it was much needed for BJP they needed to lose in a state to get their act together sad for Biharis they have to yet again suffer.

Lalu would have been finished.Bjp still polled 37% votes.I believe JDU must have polled atleast 22-25%.The combo would have polled close to 50%.

May be Shah wasnt too wrong.I expect more polarisation for Assam polls.Also the news trickling in is that BJP did well in phase 4 and 5 when they polarised the voters and the development plank in phase 1 2 3 didnt work.

Its obvious that bihar doesnt get the development language its either caste or religious polarisation.Big mistake by BJP in phase 1 2 3.

Every time in history whenever BJP has come to power has been on development. Every time in history they have lost power is when they allowed its communal forces to go on a rampage.

In today's world the election is not in isolation. You seem to pretend Bihar voters were in a coma before the campaign began and they had no idea about polarization before the campaigns

BJP has made the mistake and lost even under Vajpayee where not only was the country doing well but BJP had someone of his stature. Yet they and their fans will never learn the lesson

Thank you for your two cents. Development plank doesnt work everywhere.Else Lalu Yadav wont be winning bihar.I guess his 9th pass wannabe cricketer son will make a great deputy CM.

JDU BJP won because of development in 2005 and then again in 2010,yes there might be caste also but BJP will win in other states only if they win on development agenda also the reason they came to power at centre.

Lets see, for Indians in order of worst to best - communal-ism,corruption,development

This was not so much a vote in favor of RJD's development as much as rejection of communalism.

Rejection of communlaism or consolidation of M-Y votes of Lalu and OBC votes of JD U.

BJP still got 37-38% votes.Not too less than the 39% they got last year.

They made sure they had the right caste distribution as well they could had gone with development agenda and genuinely made a proper attempt at it.It was basically rejection of communal statements of late inspite of Bihar not doing so well in last 2 years.People don't want riots mate.

You do realise that non BJP states have more riots than BJP states?

The caste combo in Bihar favoured Lalu-Nitish as their votes combined.If BJP would have had a huge decrease in its vote share i would have agreed,but there isnt.

Yes and then magically BJP appears there with a higher vote share. BJP is less corrupted i do agree on that but they are communal and having right wing Hindu priests as their MP isn't encouraging as well.
 
Also this laughable statement that Bihar results are indicative of Hindus of Indi is also crap. 84% muslims voted for the winning alliance and BJP is still is growing to supplant its RSS fascist agenda and its going to happen. Edge of C\cloth is on fire its time the fire will reach the rest of it soon.

In UP what a certain SP minister is doing/did will push more and more votes towards BJP.

Nitish winning Bihar would had been good ,people don't realize that Bihar has one of the highest migrating population other cities because its not a self sufficient state in anything JDU-BJP did well.
But somehow people have managed to make Lalu win :facepalm: which is a shocker honestly.

Well ppl initiating riots, arson and rape are Yogi Adityanath [BJP MLA], Sangeet Som [BJP MLA on bail], there are RSS camps giving militant training, the seva dham schools are being operated by RSS/BJP but the state is ruled by Congress or Samajwadi Party, so its their fault. They are powerless against hindu terrorists its their fault.

Illogical because the law and order will be in the hands of the non bjp govt and they can whip them into place.The reason BJP gains in these riots is because the non BJP govt. invariably targets the hindus with state machinery and the these people change their vote to BJP.

"Law and order" doesn't mean much on a long-term macroscopic point of view : what matters is religious polarization, that, because of riots and its violence(s), a Hindu begins to feel Hindu before looking at his social class or state. Only BJP wins in such equation and you know that.

Bjp is a part and parcel of rss and even their their politicians have no qualms in recognizing their roots on national tv.and we all know what rss and their sister organisations like vhp, shiv sena etc are capable of.btw, where was bjp before rath yatra and chsnged after that? ? Every party tries communalism (exception of communists), so why BJP singled out as if they are doing something unethical. Congress openly goes to visit the bukharis. The laloos proudly talk about the muslim yadav combo. Some get votes for dalits, some from maha dalits, some from OBC's. Some from jats, some from sikhs. Some visit the church, some the imams for votes. Yet it is only the BJP which is divisive. Every vote bank is secular, except when it comes to BJP.

This shows why Bihar is what it is today. Secular in Bihar means , I vote for my caste irrespective of what he had done to us.

Laloo returning in Bihar is a shame on Bihari voters.
