Blemish near the edge: is it worth to buy a cricket bat

Hi all,
I am trying to buy a cricket bat it has a blemish near the edge. Will it affect the life of the cricket bat.

As far as I know blemishes,knots,heartwood does NOT affect the performance of the bat....

It only affects the aesthetics of the bat...
