What happened: In a press conference on Monday, Abdul Aleem Khan said, "I have given my all to PTI and did the hard work for #NayaPakistan, but I was not appreciated." In his presser, he expressed concerns over #Khan's recent remarks about his performance and about the disgruntled members, "Khan shb meinay apna sab diya PTI kou." Aleem Khan also talked about how he was sent #NAB notices, and said, "Aisa meinay kounsa karnama krdia jissey appnay mujhay #MPA banay kay baad chaar NAB kay notices bheijy."

Details: It is pertinent to mention that Abdul Aleem Khan was one of Khan's most trusted worker and Imran Khan had also acknowledged Aleem's work previously. However, in the latest presser, Aleem Khan released a few shocking details and asked Imran Khan to release evidence against him the then prime minister previously claimed that. He ended his presser by saying, "Himmat krou tum Khan aur aou awaam kay samnay btao sb kou haqaiq agr mein jhoot hua toh apni qaum kay samnay apnay app kou goli maarounga."

More: Subsequently, Aleem Khan has called out Khan for a live TV debate in front of the public and said that Khan is giving dhoka to the #Pakistanis.

Aleem Khan also met Mark Stroh the American Counsel General in Karachi on March 7, 2022. Its funny how politicians remember Sins when they have been disowned or fired from their respective parties.

It appears the American's especially Biden blamed IK for their humiliating exit from Afghanistan in August 2021 and IK's pro Afghanistan Statements hurt their ego, it was their and then when they decided to intensify and make efforts to remove him from office.

No need to post old videos. Bring proof that horse trading and money was exchnaged for the recent vonc...

And than submit that proof to court instead of crying here

Old Videos? How old do you think this is? Have a guess? Major Sahib you dont have a leg to stand on. You are running from pillar to post. I havent seen such a beating since your friend used to take a daily beating at my hands because of his badniyaati.

He's complaining about old videos then posting a link about Imran Khan's past meetings:))

Aleem Khan exposing anything should be taken with a huge grain of salt especially if it's only his word we are supposed to go on. This is all likelihood a story he has concocted after it became obvious that he will have nothing to do with PTI moving forward.

Farah khan already ran away when the assemblies dissolved

Aleem Khan also travelled to London to meet Nawaz Sharif where he negotiated getting the CM Punjab seat in exchange for his followers and support for PML N.

Aleem Khan should move to London like his mentor Sher of Punjab, they can join the Labour or Conservative party and start pitching for Prime Minister of Great Britain.

Remember when JKT was the bad guy and you guys kept starting threads against him. And then a funny thing happened, what was that?

Bechara. What does one say. By the way he hasn't replied to my question about the PPP and their achievements in the last decade or so..I still await something better than a few pamphlets.

PTI dissident Abdul Aleem Khan on Monday criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan and accused him of not being "sincere to the nation".

Once a close aide of the PTI chairman, Aleem has grown disillusioned over the past few years and recently took a position against the party by deciding to support the joint opposition in the Punjab Assembly.

Talking to the media in Lahore today, he said he regretted dedicating 10 years of his life to the party. "I have supported the PTI with great loyalty, hard work and kept my ego aside. We thought there would be a Naya Pakistan in the face of Imran Khan," he said.

"I'm sad that the person I spent 10 years of my life for is not sincere with the nation."

Aleem criticised the premier over a number of issues ranging from the National Accountability Bureau "hounding" him to his insistence on retaining Usman Buzdar as the chief minister and then the nomination of PML-Q leader Pervez Elahi as the new Punjab CM.

Aleem rued that he had been branded a "traitor to the PTI" as he called out his critics and claimed that no one in the party had sacrificed more than him.

In a similar vein, he issued a challenge to the prime minister to bring forth any evidence of corruption against him, for which he said he was imprisoned for six months.

"Why wasn't a reference made against me? What proof do you have? Bring it in front of the nation and tell them that these were Aleem Khan's misdoings and corruption ... I promise that if I turn out to be lying then I will shoot myself." he said.

The PTI dissident levelled a number of allegations against Buzdar as well, saying that he was involved in bribery over transfers and postings in Punjab. He also accused Farah Khan, an associate of the first lady, of being complicit in these transfers.

He said any investigation would uncover who she (Farah) was forwarding the money of her alleged corruption while responding to a question about whether the first lady was also involved in supporting Farah.

Aleem criticised the prime minister for Sunday's dissolution of the National Assembly as well, questioning what had stopped him from doing so before. He said that the premier could not dissolve the assemblies once a no-confidence resolution was submitted against him.

Aleem's business contradicted PTI manifesto, says Gill

PTI spokesperson Shahbaz Gill responded to Aleem's press conference and refuted his claims regarding the prime minister.

He said Aleem was a close member of the PTI and should have aired his concerns while he was still with the party. Gill said there was "no doubt" that Aleem had supported the party but did so out of his own will and no conditions were set between him and the prime minister.

Gill said that Aleem had acquired over 300 acres of riverbed property and then pressure was put on the then Lahore Development Authority vice chairman to legalise the land but the premier refused.

"There were other issues as well where PTI's manifesto and Aleem Khan's business were contradicting each other," he said.

Regarding Aleem's claims about being sent notices by NAB, Gill said it was "illogical" since they had also been sent to PTI member Sibtain Khan, who nonetheless still stood by the prime minister.

Gill also called on Aleem to provide proof for his allegations against Farah Khan and CM Buzdar.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said he was "deeply anguished" by Aleem's press conference.

He said Aleem's grievances were from the PTI government's second year and would have held weight at that time but it was "inappropriate" to raise them now.

Lol IK did not receive $50-100 million from the CIA and offered $1-2 million to each PML N and PPP member to disown their party and to vote against their govts. Moot point.

lol honest man, pure intentions? The guy is soo desperate for power that he is violating the constitution. Any respect Imran has is now lost and constitutes as a traitor.

Also, Aleeem Khan talked about Farah who is the friend of Bushra.

Even if he talked about Bushra, there is nothing wrong as Bushra is the first lady who has done nothing at the position she got through marriage. Atleast she could had promoted women empowerment or gave support to the gender equality in the country.

You maybe naive and simple but unfortunately your crooks arent and your crooks learn from their mistakes. Do you really think they would make the same mistakes again. And in your desperation to show that they didn't take money, you have admitted they broke the constitution the year before with horse trading. Major Sahib you ain't bright enough to think through what you are admitting to. Lol

You have gone totally gaga in your desperation. You have just admitted that your party committed a crimes the year before. So the question is who should have gone to jail, Gilani, his son, Billo or AZ or all of them

Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Punjab and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan advised on Tuesday former Punjab governor Chaudhry Sarwar and estranged PTI leader Aleem Khan to ‘not throw stones while living in a glasshouse’.

The PTI leaders remarks came following Sarwar and Aleem's allegations against Prime Minister Imran Khan and the incumbent government, during separately held press conferences.

Commenting on the former governor’s press conference, Chohan said that he was himself removed from minister-level positions twice, but never spoke ill of the party because one has to bear all kinds of weathers for the party and its leadership.

He stated that Chaudhry Sarwar should’ve remained quiet for a few months, after he was removed as governor, and instead discussed issues with party leaders, and “maybe things would have been sorted and you [Sarwar] would have been placed in a better position”.

Chohan claimed that Sarwar had always been on a different ship and used to openly criticise former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar and speak against the party inside the Governor House, as well as during his foreign trips.

“You would call MPAs and tell them to join the Aleem Khan or the Jahangir Tareen factions, ask them to sway from party policies,” he alleged, maintaining that there were witnesses to these acts of his.

He further maintained that he was removed on the basis of these actions and it was wrong of him to indulge in negative, accusatory politics afterwards.

Highlighting another one of his “lies”, Chohan stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan had never pressured Sarwar to break the Punjab Assembly.

“I’m surprised at your wisdom. There is no law, no clause that says that a governor has the authority to break a provincial assembly without the chief minister advising him to do so,” he said, pointing out that Buzdar could not have made the suggestion as he was facing a vote of no-trust in the provincial assembly.

He maintained that Sarwar’s statement was a complete “lie”, and advised him to not speak before the media again.

Commenting on Aleem Khan’s press conference, the PTI MPA stated that he no longer respected Aleem due to his disrespectful comments towards Imran Khan and PTI.

“His first lie was that he was given three NAB notices in his first ten days as MPA. However, he was given his first NAB notice on January 11, 2018 - during PML-N's government,” Chohan said while apparently waving the National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) first notice to Aleem.

“His NAB case was open and shut and the reference is still on the NAB chairperson’s desk, but there has been no action against him because he has someone’s favour,” Chohan alleged.

Referring to Aleem’s accusations against Imran Khan for calling Pervez Elahi – the premier’s choice for Punjab chief – a thief, Chohan maintained that Aleem Khan also used to speak against Hamza Shehbaz - the opposition's choice for Punjab chief minister who the Aleem Khan faction is now supporting.

Unable to play audio proof before the media due to technical difficulties, Chohan stated that Aleem had called Shehbaz Sharif and the entire Sharif family "the biggest thieves of all" and had threatened to drag them across the streets of Lahore.

“However, yesterday you were sitting on young Zardari’s [Bilawal Bhutto] lap, dragging Imran Khan,” Chohan added.

He further said that Aleem had met the US counsel general in September 2021, and 20-25 days later left his post as a senior minister and changed his point of view and manner of speaking towards PTI – furthering Imran Khan’s conspiracy that the US had backed the no-confidence motion against the premier.

Character assassination of him and his wife was already predicted by IK. So rotay rahe lottay sare

The opposition is so dumb that Khawaja office came on TV and called Imran Khan the Ali Baba of thiefs. Bikhari doesn't even know that Ali Baba was the good guy in the story against the 40 thiefs! Just like Imran Khan who singlehandedly is beating this band of crooks.

The Omni Group saga: Of fake accounts, bogus companies and a trail of ill-gotten wealth
The Express Tribune traces FIA's steps uncovering perhaps the biggest mega-corruption scandal in country's history.

"Zeb* is a young investigation officer at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He hails from a remote and impoverished area of rural Sindh.

One day in December 2015, a high-ranking officer handed him a four-page report.

Already uneasy about being summoned individually, Zeb looked at the officer curiously, who asked him to take a seat.

The officer picked up the nearby desk phone and instructed the operator not to disturb him for a while. He then turned to Zeb. "This is extremely sensitive information. The file contains information about certain bank accounts through which multi-billion rupee transactions have been made. Our sources say these bank accounts are being used for money laundering by or at the behest of certain influential members of Sindh's ruling political party."

The officer instructed Zeb to discreetly investigate the accounts and report back to him, while maintaining absolute secrecy. "No one other than the two of us should know about this investigation."

For Zeb, who was still quite new to the agency, the whole episode was surreal.

Little did he know at the time that this surreptitious conversation would be the precursor to a cascade of events that would ultimately incriminate some of the most prominent bankers and businessmen as well as threaten the very foundations of one of the biggest political dynasties of the country.

FIA launches probe into Omni Group’s loans

A tip

According to FIA sources, information regarding the fake accounts came to the fore when an intelligence agency picked up a prominent money changer in an unrelated case.

Under considerable pressure, the money changer spilled the beans faster than the authorities could comprehend. Among other revelations was a candid confession that certain bank accounts had been created to receive kickbacks. The intelligence agency shared the information with the FIA.

The money changer was released a year after his alleged detention.

Omni group agrees to pay Rs12b

Gathering evidence
As the monitoring and investigation of these suspicious accounts continued, it surfaced that five of these accounts in two banks - the Sindh Bank and Summit Bank - had been used for transactions worth around Rs15 billion.

The accounts, it was soon discovered, were operated by certain companies, which were found to be fake. Funds were credited into these accounts from contractors with multi-billion rupee contracts with the Sindh government. This money was then transferred to accounts of companies owned and operated by the Omni Group, whose chairperson, Anwar Majeed, is a close aide of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari. Another beneficiary was Nasir Lootah, the chairperson of Summit Bank and a Dubai national.

The money was even used to cover the personal expenditures of the leadership of Sindh's ruling party, including millions paid to a travel agent, payment of electricity bills and for the purchase of luxury vehicles.

When the first few months of investigation showed possible involvement of such high-profile persons, Officer Zeb was again summoned by his superior officer. This time, he was instructed to shelve the investigation.

Sindh govt depts told to shut all dealings with Omni Group

Fresh investigations

The investigation resumed almost a year and a half later, when Bashir Memon took charge as Director-General of the agency. A senior reputable officer of the Police Services of Pakistan (PSP), he had previously served on various positions in the Sindh Police.

Some of Memon's briefings included those on mega-corruption scandals. He decided to investigate them afresh. They got their big break in December, last year, when the Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), a regulatory body, flagged several transactions with a Suspicious Transaction Report (STP) and shared it with the agency.
FIA's State Bank circle initiated a formal inquiry in January. It was soon revealed that some major contractors of the Sindh government had transferred billions in the accounts of seven companies that were at this point termed 'suspicious'.

These included A-One International, a company registered in the name of Tariq Sultan.

The FIA summoned Sultan, who got the shock of his life when he was informed that an account in his name had made transactions worth around Rs4 billion.

For someone who had only recently started earning Rs25,000 per month, not much above the mandated minimum wage, such an amount was unheard of. But that was not the end of the surprises; at least Rs15 million of that amount was transferred to an account associated with Zardari Group. Former president, Asif Ali Zardari, his three children and his sister, Faryal Talpur, are listed as shareholders in the company.

Sultan is an employee of Omni Group, which is in turn owned by Anwar Majeed. The latter, who is now in state custody, is under investigation for his involvement in these transactions. Zardari and Talpur have been called in for questioning by the FIA several times and have secured pre-arrest bail from a banking court.

NBP calls for reopening Omni Group's sugar mills

The catalyst

By June 2018, the FIA had several high-profile names on its list but was unable to make headway - for several reasons. Local investigators were unwilling to pursue the case against the influential friends of the former president. The FIA, time and again, complained of the lack of cooperation from other agencies as well as the provincial government.

It was at his point that the Supreme Court intervened.

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took suo motu notice of the 'slow progress' in the money laundering case. The agency's director-general and relevant officials were asked to appear before the apex court.

The CJP's intervention acted as a catalyst for the investigation agency.

Officials arrested another close aide of Zardari, Hussain Lawai, on July 6, a few days after he was barred from leaving the country. The septuagenarian Lawai had previously headed Summit Bank and was currently serving as chairman of the Pakistan Stock Exchange. He was arrested along with another banker, Taha Raza, and two others.

Subsequently, the first case was registered in the mega-corruption scandal.

The FIA submitted its report to the apex court on July 8. According to the report, the investigations revealed a web of companies and accounts that were being used to transfer billions of rupees. Most of the accounts were either being operated in the Sindh Bank, owned by the provincial government, Summit Bank, which is owned by a UAE prince with alleged close ties to Zardari and United Bank Limited (UBL).

In all, 29 accounts were identified that received payments, totaling at least Rs35 billion.

At this point, the agency also submitted three lists in the court. One comprised the Sindh government's contractors, who transferred billions of rupees into the fake accounts. The second list identified the seven fake companies, while the third, which stirred the most controversy, contained the names of those who had benefitted from these payments.

SC summons record of Omni Group’s missing sugar stocks

Broadening the scope
After getting the go-ahead from the apex court, the agency enlarged the ambit of its investigations.

Since then, investigators have unearthed over a hundred such accounts, from which money was transferred to influential persons through back channels. Moreover, cash amounting to almost Rs5 billion was also withdrawn from these accounts.

According to FIA, properties were purchased in the UAE at the time of the cash withdrawal.

Due to the extent and scope of the investigations, the FIA DG had formed seven teams under Najaf Quli Mirza, who is the agency's additional director general.

Each team was headed by an assistant director, three of whom were from Sindh, while four hailed from Punjab. Each team comprised two investigation officers.

Those working on the case believe that Omni group's Anwar Majeed and his son Abdul Ghani Majeed are the masterminds behind the entire scheme. The day-to-day dealings were, however, carried out by two company executives, Aslam Masood and Arif Khan. Both have left the country. There were unconfirmed reports that an FIA team met and recorded the testimony of Masood in Jeddah, where he was under treatment at the time. FIA officials did not confirm the veracity of these reports.

What the FIA investigators did confirm was that these accounts, many of which were opened in the names of Omni Group's low-cadre employees, were used for layering, as well as transferring money to different accounts through which real estate was purchased.

Arrests of the big fish

Omni Group chief Anwar Majeed was arrested along with son Abdul Ghani Majeed on August 15, when they returned to the country on being summoned by the apex court. They are now on judicial remand.

Meanwhile, Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur have appeared before the investigators and have since secured interim bail from the Banking Court. The last hearing of the case was on December 21, when the duo got their fourth extension in the bail till January 7.

Formation of JIT

Amid complaints from the FIA and barbs flying in the Supreme Court, CJP Nisar ordered the formation of a Joint Investigation Team to quicken the pace of the investigation. One of FIA's principal complaints was the lack of cooperation from the Sindh government.

That was resolved as the CJP ordered the Sindh government to hand over records of expenditures on development projects over the last five years. In the meantime, the Sindh government, under pressure from the SC, also issued directives to its various departments to stop all dealings with the Omni Group.

Anwar Majeed and company had their own problems to deal with. The JIT, by this time, had unearthed irregularities in loans amounting to over Rs73 billion taken by nine sugar mills belonging to the Omni Group from the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) as well as other private banks. As many as nine new inquiries were registered in the FIA's Karachi commercial banking circle.

The investigation found that the Omni Group had pledged 4.5 million bags of sugar in March and April 2018 to obtain a total loan of Rs13b from both government and private banks.

The majority of the loan amount was taken from government banks.

According to the rules, the Omni group could not sell the pledged 4.5m bags of sugar without advanced permission from the banks. It was also bound to return all the loans to the banks within a week of the sale of the sugar at the specified prices. According to the JIT's report submitted to SC on October 26, Omni Group owed a total debt of Rs73 billion to different banks. It took Rs23 billion from the National Bank and Rs50 billion from Sindh Bank, Silk Bank and Summit Bank.

The JIT, during the course of its investigation, learnt that the Omni Group had shifted the sugar bags, which were kept as pledges, from the sugar mills to an undisclosed location, or had sold them without informing the bank during the hearing of the money laundering case.

In the meantime, accounts in the names of several unwitting individuals, such as the ice cream vendor and a rickshaw driver, were found to have been used to transfer funds. These individuals had no connection to the Omni Group or any other individual associated with the case.

The masterminds, in connivance with bank officials, had allegedly used their accounts which had been lying dormant for some time. In one case, when the FIA reached the house of a person under whose name one such account was operating, they were informed that the account holder had died some time ago.

Current status

Last week, the JIT submitted its final report to the Supreme Court, which will take up the case for hearing on Monday, December 24. All the evidence, compiled over the course of the last three years starting with Zeb, was stuffed in over eight boxes and submitted to the apex court's registry.

The scope of the inquiry now includes over 300 persons of interest, scores of bank accounts and companies associated with them. At the centre of it all are Anwar Majeed, his sons, bankers Hussain Lawai and Taha Raza, the incumbent and a former chief minister and two former chief secretaries, besides the leadership of Sindh's ruling party, Asif Ali Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur.

Why arnt pti fans asking for farah to return back?

Oh i remebered, farah did holy corruption because she is friends with pti and imrans wife soo...

Its ok if pti alliances and their friends destroy the country.. chalo koi baat nahi

Which party does her husband represent? I will give you a hint, and it's not the PTI.

Ptis most trusted best friend has started to expose pti..

Buzdar was making appoitments against koney, and intelligence agencies and aleem himself told imran about this.

Imrans wifes best friend farah was also involved in these appointments based on money.

He is live and spilling more on pti

Remember , THIS with proof of appointments the IK cult won't accept but a letter of a pakistani diplomatic having a political discussion is a proof of foreign interference to the same cult members

Major Sahib you can lie until the cows come home but 84 coup attempts is a fact. Wiki Leaks showed how involved the Americans were in PK politics, we know who forced Mush to give an NRO to these crooks and we know what damage they did. Your lies have been exposed. Keep lying and then more. PK people have woken up

You used Nanis cell as your source for the corruption story but why didn't you tell us who her husband is. Your pathetic attempts at looking attacking IK have fallen like Billos manhood. The same Nani that accused Aleem Khan and JKT as corruption fronts for IK is now begging them for support. Humiliation is your fate. You can run but the election will come sooner or later and Kaptaan will smash your badniyaati

Can't answer points. Major Sahib ki tuss

:))) this actually made me laugh.

Bhai, where did i say i am supporting tareen, noon league or anyone?

Yes Jehangir tareen and co are corrupt. But they did corruption under your banner of PTI.

Now, just because Aleem Khan left your party does that mean whatever he says will now be a lie?

Your party wanted Tareen after the cases started, why? I don't know whether they are corrupt and IK has started cases against them( to put it correctly he hasn't stopped thr cases) and await the conclusion. So why did you guys lie down to him.

Who is Farahs husband? Where are the cases against her? Any attempts to register cases? Nanis media cell needs to give you more. This is a desperate attempt but no one believes you and your crooks.

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Wednesday claimed that he has confirmed reports that disgruntled PTI MPA Aleem Khan was slapped by PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz over an argument, ARY News reported.

Chohan claimed that Aleem Khan and his group of three were expecting that they will get the post of Speaker Punjab Assembly by ditching Usman Buzdar and PTI but now their new allies are crushing their dreams.

“I HAVE REPORTS THAT THERE WAS A BRAWL BETWEEN HAMZA SHEHBAZ AND ALEEM KHAN AND THE LATTER WAS SLAPPED,” SAID CHOHAN.

Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that the Aleem Khan group consisted of three people, out of which, one female MPA is now with PPP so their situation is pathetic.

Chohan claimed that the brawl occurred in the Lahore hotel where according to him “the PML-N is buying MPAs’ loyalties’.

It is pertinent to note here that the rumours of a rift between Hamza Shehbaz and Aleem Khan are doing rounds on social media since yesterday but both the PML-N leader and Khan have denied that there are any such differences among them ahead of an all-important CM Punjab election.

PTI and allies are backing PML-Q’s Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while PML-N and allies are backing PM’s son Hamza Shehbaz Sharif for the CM Punjab slot.

The election is scheduled to take place on April 16.

I can't believe there are people out here defending Buzdar. It's the same people who don't hesitate to call everyone against PTI as corrupt or a traitor yet Buzdar against whom there are a number of accusations and sufficient proof is "sadiq and ameen". Hypocrites.

Supreme Court summoned him on allegations of transferring Pakpattan’s District Police Officer in the middle of the night, at the behest of a buddy called Ahsan Gujjar. The inquiry report, ordered by the Supreme Court, found that the DPO’s transfer orders flowed directly from the chief minister’s office. The case concluded only after the unconditional apologies of Mr Buzdar, Mr Gujjar, and the Inspector General of Police.

Even police chiefs were changed over three years, one of which prompted the resignation of Nasir Khan Durrani. Mr Durrani had shepherded the PTI’s celebrated police reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and was brought to Lahore for the same purpose.

NAB opened up against the chief minister on a variety of allegations, from accepting graft over liquor licenses to illegal land allotments, while his principal secretary came under investigation for assets beyond means.

Well done Hamza( it's the 1st and last time you will ever hear me say that)

I covered the corruptions of Buzdar in my post on the PTI performance review thread. I shall copy/paste them here as there seems to be a separate discussion going on. Let's not forget it was also Buzdar who gave subsidiaries in Punjab to sugar mill owners (i.e Tareen) to be able to sell internationally at lower prices and earn profits using the tax payers hard-earned money and it was Asad Umar who said we needed to do this because we needed dollars.

Buzdar's Appointment as CM Punjab
Buzdar a former PML-N and PML-Q party member joined PTI in the 2018 election season. Over the three years of his tenure not a single credible explanation would be advanced by the ruling party as to why this man was handed the fates of a hundred million people.

People based in Punjab know very well of the corruption stories doing the rounds with regards to Buzdar and transfers. Moreover, we are also very well aware of the negative impact his tenure has had on the entire province. However, personal anecdotes aside even the Supreme Court summoned him on allegations of transferring Pakpattan’s District Police Officer in the middle of the night, at the behest of a buddy called Ahsan Gujjar.

PTI's role in the Sugar Crisis

The sugar inquiry commission held Mr Buzdar responsible for authorising a whopping Rs2.9 billion subsidy. akistan exported more than four million tonnes of sugar over the past five years and more than Rs29 billion had been given to sugar mills in terms of export subsidy.

Exporting sugar with subsidy means that we are exporting on international rates which are lower than the cost of production claimed by sugar mills and the differential cost is being paid from the taxpayers’ hard-earned money

Asad Umar informed the commission that the country was in dire need of foreign exchange at that time and since there were sufficient stocks of sugar available in the country. However, there was no reliable stock count done to back up this claim made by Asad Umar. The inquiry stated “The response of Asad Umar regarding the change of the ECC decision about the freight support (subsidy) by placing it on the discretion of the provinces was found not convincing by the commission."

Basically, the government provided subsidy from the tax-payers money which sugar mill owners used to export the sugar at lower prices then at international level thereby profiting themselves while the PTI government supported this move by not accurately estimating the stock count which further resulted in profiteering by the mill owners who made profits in excess of Rs100bn by increasing prices.

The commission concluded that the subsidy granted was unjustified. “The CM Punjab pleaded his case that the subsidy was granted by the cabinet and it was a collective decision. However, keeping in view the minutes of the meeting dated 06-12-2018, which the CM Punjab claims to have forgotten, clearly indicates otherwise."

However, no charges were brought against Buzdar for providing this illegal subsidy and no charges against those responsible for ensuring and accurately estimating the stock count. In the end, Jehangir Tareen was made a scape goat and scarified.

LAHORE: Disgruntled PTI MPA Aleem Khan has challenged his party chief Imran Khan for a TV debate with him over the allegations against him so that the people could know truth.

Aleem said another disgruntled leader, Jehangir Khan Tareen, should also be part of that sitting on TV so that he could defend himself in the face of Imran Khan’s allegations.

On Thursday, Imran Khan in a podcast interview accused Aleem and Tareen of seeking benefits being part of his government. Mr Khan said Aleem wanted to have 300 acres in Lahore legalised while Tareen had problems when a commission was formed to probe the sugar scam.

He said Aleem’s name also appeared in the Pandora Papers and he was also wanted by the NAB in corruption cases.

The former premier further said both Aleem and Tareen had joined hands with the PML-N because corruption suited them.

Responding to Imran’s allegations, Aleem asked his ‘old friend’ on Friday as why he did not join him on a live TV debate on such allegations so that truth could be known to everyone. “I want to say categorically that when I joined Imran in 2010, I owned 3,000 acres at Ravi which I purchased from a third party. None of that land (3,000 acres) was acquired through the government authorities,” he said and asserted that not an inch of this land was owned by the state.

Aleem said Imran Khan was talking about RUDA (Ravi Urban Development Authority) project which he was keen to develop during the PTI government.

“RUDA had acquired the land from private owners on state rates against a few hundred thousand rupees (per acre) and later handed it over to its blue-eyed developers,” he alleged and asked Imran should he reveal the names of those developers.

“What relation those developers had with Imran Khan... this must be probed to know the truth,” he said and also pointed fingers at those who were hosting Farah Khan in Dubai.

Aleem said the authorities should also investigate whose jet Farah would use.

“I would like to ask whether some relatives of an LDA vice chairman appointed by Imran Khan were among the 10 developers who got the RUDA land,” Aleem questioned.

Tareen group’s spokesperson Raja Riaz said Mr Tareen had been advised by the group members to respond to Imran Khan’s allegations and expose him.

Former PTI leader Abdul Aleem Khan — who was disqualified as a lawmaker last year — said on Sunday that he had no plans of joining a new political party or launching one.

“Right now I am only focused on welfare work,” he said in a statement.

Aleem’s remarks come as a clarification after it was reported that some PTI dissidents, led by Jahangir Tareen and himself, were weighing options to either join the PPP or form a new party.

Glad IK never made this loser Aleem Khan as CM.

If that had happened Bajwa's assets would have been 112b instead of 12b. These filthy generals are only good are sucking the country dry.

I hope there comes a time when Pakistani nation takes its revenge from GHQ, Raiwind and Garhi KhudaBhaksh
