Imad is a better batter, Nawaz a better bowler.

And the 50 over world cup is in India where you do need more than 2 spinners.

Keeping that in mind, I'd feel it'll be a good idea to accomodate both Imad and Nawaz (along with another spinner(

This will be the line up

Fakhar
Imam/ Sharjeel
Babar
Rizwan
Haris/ Saud/ Haider
Imad
Nawaz
Faheem
Hasan
Usman / Shadab
Shaheen

3 seamers, 4 spinners and batting till #10.

Imad should definitely be batting at 6. Nawaz I would prefer at 8 or 9. Behind Hasan Ali. But he has definitely improved and made a case for an inclusion in the side as a bowler.

However he is going to have to do a whole lot more to inspire any confidence in his batting ability.

Just some stats.

Imad averages 43 @ 110. More than good for Pakistan standards.

One thing Pakistan should accept is their capabilities, they'd never be a team scoring 350+ scores.

They've to try scoring 320+ and defend it with their bowling

Imad isn't making the 2023 WC. Nawaz is more of a long format player. Nawaz for ODIs and Imad for T20s.

Fakhar
Abdullah/ Haider/ Imam
Babar
Saud/ Haris
Rizwan
Imad
Nawaz
Faheem
Qadir
Hassan
Shaheen

In a hypothetical lineup, 6-9 should be Imad, Faheem, Hasan and Nawaz.

Nawaz is the weakest batsmen of the four, regardless of his QEA form. Haven't seen a single decent batting performance in international cricket from him.

Nawaz is a solid option for Pakistan in the long formats whereas Imad is better suited for T20's, but me personally, I'm not against Imad not returning for Pakistan cricket until improvements are made.

This seems like a good solution to me. Shadab is the one Nawaz should be replacing in the team, not Imad. I would put Faheem at 6 though, with Imad 7, Hassan 9 and Nawaz 9.

You're right ...we should always go for specialists - we're just wasting talented players like iftikhar, asif, talat, khushdil, danish, sarfraz on the sidelines.

Pity, malik has retired, otherwise here's another.

And, of course 'Professor' ...he'll only be 43 in 2023....bacha.

What do u mean bhai??
Faheem can bat can bowl Highest score 26 in odi nothing special with the ball.
Imad is yet win a match against a big team with bat or ball. Averages what 45 with the ball??
Nawaz can bowl a bit but hasnt done anything with the bat.

They are all similar players with limited abilities in either facets. Cant play all at the same time.
Such players go missing in challenging situations becoz skill set is not up to the mark

Faheem , Imad , Nawaz , shadab all are almost same level players , you can play two of them only , and Faheem can be third seamer , so he would get nod.

I think with Harris coming in middle order he can easily give 5 - 6 overs

In 50 over WC in India I would go with

Fakhar
Imam
Babar
Harris
Rizwan
Haider Ali
Faheem
Nawaz
Imad / shadab
Hassan
Shaheen

Imad is a decent bat but here people are overrating him.He avgs 43 becuase of the high number of not outs.He isnt as good of a batsman to be batting at 6.If he can learn how to spin the ball and learn the art if taking wickets than ill want him ahead of nawaz in odis. But in t20is he is an automatic pick

NO.

That will make the lower middle order very weak. Playing three average bits and pieces players from 6 - 8 is not right for OD.

Why can't they develop players in different formats

Imad : ODI and T20 ( He can surely hit better than what Nawaz could do...)
Nawaz : Tests (he cant hit the bowl, but can spin Jadeja kind of ...)

Nope, that's just inviting trouble. Need a batsman at 6 not bowlers who can bat a bit. One of these guys could possibly fit in at 7 though.

Nawaz can't even connect a ball angling across him. Horrible horrible batsman

Imad Wasim is better than some so called batsmen that are playing these days

Imad is the best all-rounder available. In fact, he has the highest strike rate and average (after Babar) in the last 2 years. His only fault is that he’s confident and will not lick boots of others. Pak management loves players who will say yes to everything.

Imad Wasim in his latest interview

PakPassion.net: How do you feel about the battle for a T20 World Cup place between Mohammad Nawaz and yourself?

Imad Wasim: To be honest, there has never been any competition like that between myself and any other bowlers. Unfortunately, this is all the making of the Selectors for reasons best known to them. I feel that I am one of the top ten all-rounders in the world but having said that Nawaz is a fantastic player and whatever he is doing is simply amazing and he is doing a great job for Pakistan. If they can play 3 ‘keepers in the side, then why can they not play two left-arm spinners who are good with the bat as well. So there really is no need for any competition as such.

The way I can serve and what I have done so far for Pakistan is way more than what many others have done or can do. I say this with greatest of respect to Nawaz who has played alongside me and who is like my younger brother. Even if you ask him, he will say that there is no competition between us. I was the number one bowler in ICC’s T20I Rankings and was the number three all-rounder in ODIs when they stopped playing me and I am still considered one of the best all-rounders in white ball formats. These ICC rankings are not a lie and are based on sound reasoning. If people still need to be convinced about my abilities, then they can make their own judgement about me by looking at my past performances.
