India have a big score on the board and with Bumrah available in the arsenal, they have a big chance to go 1-0 up in the five match Test series

But the question is can Bazball prove others wrong again in absence of one of the pioneer Jonny Bairstow?

Sourav Ganguly's Blunt Message To Indian Bowlers Seeking 'Support' For Jasprit Bumrah

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is hoping that fellow pacers will contribute more in the ongoing Test series against England and release pressure from pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah so that he can be available for all five matches of the tour. Bumrah was India's standout bowler and helped the side to bundle out hosts for 465 in their first innings on Day 3. He returned with the figures of 5-83 in 24.4 overs. Despite being injury-prone and also managing his workload on the tour, he bowled the second-most overs for India, Mohammed Siraj bowled the most - 27 overs - for the visiting side.

Former BCCI president lauded Bumrah's adaptability to contribute in all formats of the game for the country. However, the legendary left-handed batter pointed out a lack of support from fellow pacers including Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna and Siraj.

Krishna bagged three wickets while Siraj got hold of two scalps but both of them leaked more than hundred runs which reduced India's first-innings lead to just six runs.

Ganguly believes Bumrah's presence in India's playing XI will keep them alive in the five-Test crucial series on challenging English conditions.

"Such a pleasure to watch Bumrah bowl in all formats of the game .. hopefully he will get support from the other end so that he can play 5 tests .. it will keep India in the series .. @bcci @Jaspritbumrah93," Ganguly wrote on X.

After the end of play on Sunday, Bumrah credited his belief to play for India for more than a decade despite his injury struggles due to his unorthodox action.

"I always wanted to play for India. I played for India on my belief. I have played every format on my belief. I have always heard 'no' from people. First they said 'you won't be able to play'; then they said 'you will last only six months'; then they said 'you will last only eight months', and just like that I have spent ten years in international cricket listening to all this. I have played the IPL for 12-13 years.

"Even now people keep saying this injury will be it. Keep waiting, I will not think about that. I will keep doing my work. Every three-four months there will be headlines but, let's see, I will play till it is in my destiny. I prepare my best, and leave the rest to god. Whatever barkat (abundance or good fortune) god has given me, I try to carry it forward, and try to take Indian cricket forward."

On Day 4, India will resume their second innings from 90/2 with captain Shubman Gill, who scored a career-best 147 in the first innings, unbeaten on 6 while opener KL Rahul is not out on 47. India are leading by 96 runs.

wicket is so flat and England wont stay there for a long time as they mostly play attacking shots so yeah either they will lose their wickets playing such shots or they will chase the target... 50/50 for now!
Whats % chance of rain tomorrow. I don't want any rain interruption. :kp

yeah enough to get result of this Test but in this case India would be on a driving seat as they can get some help due to overcast conditions so 60-40 in the favour of India.
Never trust England weather and a GF . Both They can change anytime , simply unpredictable . :kp

If england go on a defensive then India will win probably. Defense is not their forte. But England look a bit shaken.

It will be tough. If the conditions are overcast, India have some chance. It all depends on how the first 10 overs go tomorrow. If India can nip out couple of wickets England will be under pressure.

I see entire day is cloudy.ball should nip through out the day .add few cracks , uneven bounce, rough outside wickets .definitely not an easy chase for ftb.

. 350 runs needed today on the 5th day. It is gonna be a hard chase for England.

They might end up on the loosing side...

India would hope that Jadeja does well today with bowl and pick wickets too. That will be only chance for India to win this test outside of Bumrah who as always is key to India’s bowling.

Rest of the pacers have been a huge disappointment and they also increase India’s tail in batting, which has troubled us in both innings.

Their is less hope in jadeja then their is in siraj. Atleast cry baby siraj has done something this test and picked up a wicket here and their

I do not think the pitch or India's 4th-5th bowlers threaten to take 10 wkts of Eng

It will be Bumrah, Siraj and Jadeja who can possibly create about 4-5 chances. If these are taken and come within first 1.5 sessions, Eng might decide to shut shop if RRR hits 5.5 levels in final session. i think there is about 50% chance of this happening

Alternatively if Eng batters do silly mistakes l, they might lose in a collapse but this seems lower probability now that most of the team is experienced and in reasonable form. Maybe 20% chance of this happening

If Eng see off first hour, they will be on way to winning the game. Ball will get soft between ovs 40-80 and set batters with positive mindset can score 200 runs in this phase on this wicket. About 30% chance of this outcome

England will win

All results are possible, but I trust Bumrah to deliver today.

May, he can get the 10-fer in todays match as few people have been pointing out the one thing that Bumrah lacks for now😁

Lets go Bumrah!!

England should put pressure early on and indian trundlers will start panicking.

Apart from ugliest action guy bumrah no one is capable of taking wickets.

England should play him carefully and beat others mercilessly.

I agree. Without Bumrah , this is no better than a trundling Pakistani attack.

Blame is on Indian team management also, why did they slowed down after the fall of Rishabh Pant? They slowed down for 9 overs before the new ball. That is the time to maximise the scoring and get to 350. Instead they were hanging around 325 by the time second new ball came. 30 mins of play wasted due to that and it’s not like they got any extra run for that. It was selfish batting.

No I won't be that much cruel buddy....I even acted with restraint after BGT...but care more for other esteemed posters
BGT was alive till last day and if Umpire didnt screw us we would have won that series. I personally refused to accept the official result of that tour and declared India winner in Rajdeep's statsbook. For me, last time India lost a test series against Aus was way back in 2014 when MSD was our test captain.

Shubham Gill will have a lot to learn to improve as captain. We are losing a good number of games before the team settles up well. This is a year of rebuilding the team now.

We don’t have quality in fast bowling and we missed the quality of the great Ravichandran Ashwin as well. The tail is pretty long too so we need an all rounder as well.

Congratulations to England for a fantastic win though. They were superb and their batting firepower is scary indeed. They deserved to win this test as they were better team.

Shut up shop? Don’t think England do that nowadays.

Bumrah looked very ineffective in the second innings. The entire pace-attack went missing. Not sure if Krishna's 2 wickets mean much when he concedes 92 @ 6.13 RPO.
