I'll help you out... 2007 Aus vs Sri Lanka
Yes, I was in stadium at 2007 Australia-SL final at Barbados , was flatter than any "ordinary" ODI match.

I have to agree. I was there at the game, and I thought the atmosphere was fantastic. I have been to a diverse set of games/matches (e.g., Gaddafi Stadium, El Clasico, Superbowl), and my experience yesterday was right up there.
Naturally, it had a lot to to with the intensity of the game. Yes, there were a lot of Indian fans with pre-booked tickets, but there was a strong English contingent, and it definitely felt like an English home game.
Since we were left on the dark about the commentary (and many were not aware of the ODI-final super over rule), there was absolute pandemonium in the stadium when the announcer announced that there would be a super-over. Everyone flipped out, and it felt a little like kids being allowed to play outside for an extra 30 minutes with their friends.
My father, bless his heart, had dreamt of being at Lords his whole life. Yesterday, I finally got to go with him, and it ended up being the best occasion that one could ever dream of.
He has seen international cricket his whole life, and he himself proclaimed that the atmosphere was unmatched.
The crowd was enjoying the game, respectful, did not have to rely on silly gimmicks, and loudly cheered their team with passion, singing along to songs. The crowd was loud at the appropriate times, without slander and hyper-nationalism. For me, it was the most perfect blend of a viewing experience one could have. It was so lovely to see the crowd sing along to famous tunes, even when the game was super tense.
I'd post a video showcasing the crowd being lit in harmony, but mp4 vids are apparently not upload-able on this forum.
“Atmosphere” doesn’t just mean people jumping up and down and shouting.
I saw Lord’s in utter silence once - 20,000 people held in rapt attention at the climax of a test match.
I woke up at the same time! The crowd woke up at 5.33pm.
I checked my watch when there was finally some atmosphere being generated by the crowd.
You and your dad shared a very memorable part of history there. Wish one day when my son is older I could do the same. Glad you enjoyed it, a final as thrilling as this where both teams are neck and neck and no guaranteed winner until the very end. That final is probably once in a milennium like that.

I was at the game with my son and it was very much test match atmosphere up to the point that Buttler joined Stokes at the crease. Very much dictated by the match situation but it did pick up and it was raucous at the end and great to hear the rendition of Sweet Caroline which got the whole ground singing. Contrast this to the Pakistan-South Africa game where we had idiots jumping in front of us even for singles and running up and down the passageways. Fine for a wicket or a boundary but some people just overdo it blowing their horns almost every second. I thought the Lords atmosphere was just fine.
Noise isn’t atmosphere.

My British colleague is more excited Wimbledon final. I asked him if he is gonna watch final today, he laughed on me. I sometimes feel embarrassed being an Indian fan that i care so passionately about a sport that no one gives a crap about cricket outside India.
And silence is?
Hey Robert it was one of the memorable days of our lives. I get goose bumps just watching the highlights and I'm a Pakistan fan..
