Commentators for England vs Pakistan Test series 2020

David Gower has left.

Ian Botham has left.

Shane Warne is coaching in the Hundred.

Sangakkara is currently serving as MCC President.

That leaves us with Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, David Lloyd, Michael Holding, Ian Ward and possibly Rob Key.

The 100 will also be taking place at the same time.

Interesting to see which Pakistan commentator gets the role. Ramiz Raja was not invited by Sky for the white ball matches in 2016, the Test series in 2018 or the white ball matches prior to the World Cup in 2019. Waqar Younis did the white ball games in 2019 whereas Wasim did the white ball games in 2016 and the Tests in 2018.

Personally I’d go with a varied line up:

Wasim Akram should give up commentary. His voice just does not suit the box. I hope he realizes that. No offence but his voice is too dull and unappealing.

Why are they holding The Hundred and a high-profile Test series at the same time? Wouldn't they want to generate as much interest as possible in both events?

Aamer Sohail is insufferable. He doesn't know how to commentate. Ramiz was snubbed during the last series so I hope he's not invited again. And besides I would prefer English commentators who atleast know how to call a game. Wasim can be the token Pakistani commentator.

Ian Ward has become my new favorite commentator. Hope he gets to commentate all games.

There is not even a 1% chance of this series happening, not even behind closed doors.

We will be really, really lucky if Australia v India happens in December. And even that would be behind closed doors.
