Hello ,

I suddenly have a problem.

I mostly use Google Chrome browser. Suddenly today when I tried to open it , its loading very slow , and in fact does not load any page.

When I am using Explorer all pages are loading.

Also , when I tried to remove Chrome from system , so that I can again download it , it is saying close all chrome tabs first. But I have no tabs open !!

I even restarted the laptop couple of times.

Any solution ?

No.

Try clearing the cache in chrome. It can be found in settings.

Clear the cache. That should speed up the process quicker.

The google web page is loading , but from there If I want to open another page , its not loading.

That is not processor issue nor the browser. That is internet issue. Check the wireless coverage of your internet. Test the internet speed to get better measurement.

Chrome is the most resource-hungry among all the browsers. Try using Firefox or Microsoft Edge.

Also install and run CCleaner. https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download

The free version is more than adequate for most things. It also clears your cache, temporary internet files, and fixes bad registry entries. It made a huge difference on my PC.

Also do a virus scan. Don't use any of the fancy anti-virus programs as most of them are resource-hungry. Windows defender works best and it comes free with Windows.

Thanks everyone for suggestions.

Finally was able to uninstall the Chrome , and I installed it again , now its working.

I checked the process working in task manager , and found two of the chrome process working , when I end them I was able to uninstall that.

I feel firefox is a little over the board . It has too many functions.

That's weird I had the exact same problem a week ago. When I tried to clear cache it would just load for ages. One thing that worked for me is going onto google incognito and that loaded fine. You might have to log in to your accounts etc as that doesn't store history etc but better than using alternative server such as IE.

Great tips.
CCleaner should be must for every computer user. Running it once a week solve most slowdown issue in old hard disks. Chrome slowdown usually occurs in 2GB or less ram. 4GB ram should be minimum any windows 7 or later comps.
Malwarebytes Free Edition is on of the best offline malware (virus) scanner.

By the way , you have any idea how to restore Facebook layout to previous one. After the above incident it has changed. The screen has become huge . Just about one pic is fitting. Even the online friends list box has disappeared.

I think you have zoomed in too much.

Try hitting CTRL - (control minus) a few times.

I have been using OPERA for PC since last 5 years and haven't faced any problem except sometimes once in a week it hangs for 2-3 minutes, massive under-rated Browser.
