LAHORE December 2, 2016: On the eve of World Disabled Day, Chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan honored Pakistan Disabled Cricket team and Wheel Chair Cricket Association in a ceremony hosted by Pakistan Cricket Board at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Subhan Ahmad, COO and Shafiq Ahmad, GM Domestic Cricket was also present in the ceremony.

Addressing the players, Chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan lauded the Disabled Cricket team for putting up a splendid performance and winning the Second ICC Academy Physically Disabled Cup, 2016 recently held in Dubai. He especially praised the performance of Hasnain Alam who had scored a century in the earlier match of the tournament and was declared best player in the final.

He said, “Disabled cricket team has won laurels for the country by winning the tournament and the whole nation is proud of their impressive performance. The disabled cricket team and Wheelchair cricket team with their performances has set an example for disabled people. You are ambassadors of Pakistan and have proved this fact through excellent teamwork on and off the field. On this auspicious occasion, he pledged his support to the Disabled Cricket on behalf of the Board and gave away a cheque of five lakh to Disabled Cricket Team and two lakh to Wheelchair cricket association”.

Representatives of Disabled Cricket and Wheelchair Cricket Association thanked Chairman PCB for honoring them and extending their support for disabled cricket.

PCB awards PKR 3.6 million cash prize to Asia Cup-winning Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Team

Lahore, 13 December 2023: Chairman PCB Management Committee, Mr Zaka Ashraf awarded a cash prize of PKR 3.6 million to the Pakistan Wheelchair team that became champions of the T20 Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup 2023 held in Nepal.

Pakistan wheelchair cricket team demonstrated an all-round display to become back-to-back champions of the T20 Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup. The PCB in its bid to keep inclusivity and diversity as a paramount part of the sport acknowledges this achievement and supports people of all abilities.

Chairman Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket (PWCC) Rukhsana Rajput, Manager Zawar Noor, Assistant Manager Javed Babar and captain Mohammad Zeeshan along with the triumphant squad were praised and appreciated by Mr Zaka Ashraf on this occasion.

Chairman PCB Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf while addressing the Asia Cup winning squad said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the team. We are proud of all the players and the PWCC management who achieved this wonderful feat. All of you are blessed with great skills and making a name for Pakistan on the global stage. The PCB will make sure to provide more grounds and training facilities to the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket team.”

Expressing his admiration for the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket team, the COO PCB, Mr Salman Naseer stated, “I congratulate you all on behalf of the PCB and the management committee. You are ambassadors of Pakistan and we are delighted that you have won back-to-back titles showcasing your courage and resilience.”
