The batting stances, techniques of ATG batsmen can be easily copied by youngsters while learning cricket, but it is the application where many lack.
Bowling actions however, seems like it can be replicated effectively. But why don't we see it as often these days? Application is easier in bowling compared to batting as you don't have to change much compared to the batter who has to apply the technique differently against various types of bowling.
Examples of successful cloned bowling actions:
- Daniel Vettori and Shakib Al Hassan
- Shane Bond and Matt Henry
- Abdul Qadir and Yasir Shah
- Glenn McGrath and Josh Hazlewood
These are some of the rare examples.
Wasim Akram had perhaps one of the more unique bowling actions but why hasn't it been spotted again in international cricket? Along with many other bowling legends.
