I got this idea from the fantastic thread by brother msb314 http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/s...at-a-point-in-the-game-and-later-regretted-it so mods feel free to merge later if there's not much interest.

Has there been any great match that everyone was excited for/was memorable but you just couldn't watch for whatever reason? This question came to mind as I have seen how excited everyone is for India vs Pakistan but I won't be able to watch it. The reason being I have some training for a job that I applied for all day, from 0830-1700 my time (UK). I'll be up since 5am as my train to Coventry is 6am so after training when I get home I may be able to watch the end but I would have missed the whole of the first innings and part of the 2nd innings of this huge match. And I think I'll be very tired as I would have been up since 5 and I might be busy after work, might chill with some people.

I think I have watched most Pakistan India match in recent times. Let's go from the 2010 Asia Cup match onwards and look at every single Pakistan India match as before 2010 my interest in cricket wasn't that high.

19 June 2010: Asia Cup encounter, virtual knockout we lost a close game, it was a saturday IIRC so of course I watched the match

30 March 2011: This was the Semi-Final of the World Cup. I didn't go to school that day as I was 'ill', so I watched this match

18 March 2012: This was the Asia Cup where Virat Kohli played THAT innings. This was a Sunday I think so I watched it, I was heartbroken, I was in tears when we lost.

30 September 2012: This was the World T20, this was a sunday, I watched this with my family, we lost badly

25 December 2012: Xmas day, was at relatives house, was amazing watching it with them and went crazy when we won, this was the 1st match of the bilateral series

28 December 2012: 2nd T20I, watched it at home, my cousin stayed over, we lost but it was a good game

30 December 2012: 1st ODI, obviously missed the start, said I would get up early but was just too tired but watched the end of 1st innings and the successful chase :)

03 Jan 2013: 2nd ODI, got up early as I think this was a day nighter so I think I watched all of this

06 Jan 2013: 3rd ODI, watched most of it but it was a dead rubber so didn't care that much, can't remember if I saw the 1st innings or not tbh

15 June 2013: CT dead rubber, I was at the ground for this match, we got smashed

02 March 2014: That Asia Cup match where Afridi hit those sixes, this was a sunday so I watched it, what a game

21 March 2014: This was in the World T20, it was a friday and I was at school so I think I recorded it and came home from school and watched it without checking the score so it was like watching it live as I had no idea what happened, but yeah I did technically miss this game.

15 Feb 2015: World Cup, was a Sunday, woke up early for it, watched it and regretted it as we played rubbish.

27 Feb 2016: Asia Cup, India thrashed us despite a good spell by Amir, this was a Saturday so I watched it

19 March 2016: World T20, watched it at my relatives with cousins etc as it was a Saturday, we lost but when Sami took those wickets we went crazy

04 June 2017: CT, was a Sunday, it was exam season but no way was I revising that day, watched the game and we got thrashed

18 June 2017: CT Final, was a Sunday, I had 4 exams the next week but I didn't care, watched this whole match and what a day it was

It's gonna be difficult with this match going on but I'll have training but that's life. I'll check the score at every break I get. Hopefully Pakistan don't let me down

What great matches did you unfortunately miss for whatever reason? Could be due to work, illness, being on a flight etc. This thread should be interesting.

:)

Believe it or not I watched almost all of the matches I wanted too or atleast a good amount meaning I might have missed the last hour how ever due to work I actually will not be able to catch the Asia cup final match depending on how things go in the tournament their is that potential Asia cup final Match between India vs Pakistan if this is to occur this will be the first time I miss and India vs Pakistan match since I started following cricket 2009. And it will also be the first final I miss, and to add more salt on the wounds lol it will be the first final ever between India and Pakistan in Asia cup. I do hope that they do meet in the finals even if it means missing the match lol, but if Pakistan are in the final regardless of the opponent it's not something I want too miss

Missed a lot of matches in between 2009 and 2012 due to limited internet bandwidth in Egypt. (TV no use)

CT finals, most of India's innings, because we had to go to our relative's house and they don't keep a TV -_-

SA vs NZ 2nd half, 2015 WC semi-final. Literally, cant believe how the hell NZ chased that total?

I have rarely missed any Pakistan matches since 1996 wc banglore qf. The one that I should have never missed was 2009 t20 wc final. I came back from work an hour before the match started and hadn’t slept previous night reading all the reviews and all. Went for a quick nap to get a little fresh and woke up when we had already won. I was living alone at the time so there was nobody to wake me up lol.

Also missed Yasir Shah’s last over in the 3rd test against WI in 2017. Was up from previous night and tried everything to keep me awake but half way through the day slept on the couch and found out later Pakistan had won.

Also missed watching the match against NZ in 2009 t20 wc because of work as the internet wasn’t too good to stream on mobile at the time. But through cricinfo was getting updated for the score

I have missed many matches due to work. Now I work in an office so going early tomorrow just so i can watch the game on time. Im always 10 min late but tomorrow im going to be 30 min early. Pak vs India is a must watch since its so rare. Cant wait gd luck to both teams. Pakistan Zindabad

Thanks for the shoutout buddy! :)

I regret not being able watch the 3rd ODI of the Samsung series in 2004 b/w Pakistan and India.

It was the game where Yasir Hameed scored 98 whilst chasing around 240 - Yasir Hameed's finest and most significant contribution to Pakistan cricket...

I believe our fellow poster Mamoon had attended that game live.

Also forever regretted not being able to watch the 2014 Asia Cup clash between Pakistan and Bangladesh where we had chased 326 - our highest successful chase til date..

Yes. I have watched only two matches live - the ODIs vs in India in Peshawar in 2004 and 2006. Won both.
